The gentleman who checked us in was fabulous and super lovely. Unfortunately the room was dirty with hair in the bathroom on the floor, and the room wasn’t as depicted. The photos online had the bedroom being updated, whereas the room we received was in quite rundown. The bedroom also had glass panels to the living room, and no fan, so the light from the living area did filter into the bedroom.

bed was clean and comfortable and ok for an overnight stay if your on a budget.

Douro Valley does not have restaurants unlike a city or town center so meals have to be at the hotel especially if you arrive late in the evening. The restaurant at this hotel only had 12 tables of 2 pax each. They had to add an extra chair for my party of 3. When we arrived at 8:30pm, we were told that the restaurant is full and could not accommodate us. Another restaurant 10 minutes away is closed on Tuesdays so we had no dinner. The restaurant is very inflexible and did not agree to our suggestions of dining at the bar or seating area outside the restaurant. They could do room service but they wanted to charge us €80 for that service. After much negotiation, they told us they could give us a table at 9:30pm. We finally had dinner at 10pm.? We also realised that they only open half of the restaurant area for dinner. ?The other half is set up for breakfast. At no point did the restaurant offer to let us sit at the breakfast area. It rained that evening and we were cold and hungry. The staff at this hotel are very inflexible with no empathy for their customers. Do eat before arriving at the hotel. Food is also expensive at the hotel. A bottle of water is €5.90 and bread charged at €3 per pax.

Pretty place, room was a bit run down and small, especially bathroom , staff was lovely. Breakfast delicious but not overly generous

Everything was great. Would definitely stay there again. The only thing was the room was not serviced afternoon first night. I asked fir it to be done...but the ball got dropped. No biggie...I just wanted clean towels, which they gave me when I asked for them.

Great B&B. Would love to return

L’emplacement en plein ville et a c?té de la mer, la nuit le climat est doux. Attention il n’y pas de restaurant à c?té… par contre le service à l’h?tel est impeccable, le personnel de l’h?tel est très agréable.

Great location, room clean bathroom a bit tired. Staff friendly and breakfast excellent.
