This is a gem of a hotel. Modern features do not detract from its historic splendor. The staff is lovely, food varied and well prepared. The rooms are a good size with comfortable beds and lovely decor and details - impecably cleaned by lovely friendly staff. The garden and outdoor terrace / restaurant are also lovely.

Just got back from a fantastic 10 days at the fabulous Telmessos Select the hotel is really well positioned in the heart of Hisaronu but far enough away from all the noise,the room was lovely, my wife broke her ankle 4 weeks before we arrived and she was really struggling to walk we were put in building 2 with lots of steps and stairs but in the morning they moved us to a much closer location to all the amenities thanks to all the staff they are all so welcoming and helpful, I have 2 moans tho the wi wi is so hit and miss, but my main issue was people smoking anywhere around the pool surely it would be better to have a none smoking area so people like me don’t have to suffer from these puffing billies thanks Telmessos select

Beautiful grounds. Friendly staff. Full sized shower was a nice surprise. Bed and bedding were comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Black out curtains really kept out early morning sun.

I’m here as part of a group of 6 friends, today will be the third day of our 8 day holiday. It’s a long 1.5 hour drive from Heraklion airport but check in was pretty smooth and easy. We have a sea view room with a shared pool, it’s worth mentioning that it’s about half a mile walk to reception so if you have mobility problems make sure you ask for a room as near as possible to all the facilities. We have 4 rooms between the 6 of us and they are all different, we did all book the same level, ours is very small. There’s no full length hanging space in the wardrobe and only 2 drawers between 2 of us. The rooms are cleaned every day but ours has been after 4pm and tea coffee water etc has not been replaced unless we have specifically asked. The staff, almost without exception are wonderful and really helpful. The problem for me is the food or more specifically the lack of information supplied about the food. I am coeliac, I can’t eat gluten, believe me not a lifestyle choice but a medical necessity. In the buffet restaurant and A La Carte restaurants there is absolutely no information about ingredients particularly the main allergens. There is gf bread but the toaster is used by everyone so lots of cross contamination. I have tried to discuss the issue with Guest Relations who passed me on to the Executive Chef. He said I could seek him out at every meal and he would tell me what I can eat. It’s not really working, he is vague and talks about traces of gluten. I did contact the hotel before booking re dietary requirements and they assured me it wouldn’t be a problem. It is! They have a note that I’m gf but I don’t think they know how to deal with it. It’s not just gluten, I met someone last night with a dairy allergy and the chef didn’t know what animal the milk used to make a specific cheese came from. I have suggested noting the main allergens on labels and menus but was told, by the chef, it’s not possible. The hotel is still in the ‘soft opening’ faze but it’s filling fast! It’s very quiet and peaceful but absolutely no entertainment just terrible music at the pools. I don’t think it’s 5 star but it could be with some effort and a bit more staff training.
