Had an amazing time at Anelia, with wonderful staff who were really caring and welcoming, and a great buffet offering a mix of different cultures. The scenic view from the room was absolutely perfect. A place I would revisit again and again with my family.

The hotel is rather new and in overall good conditions. It offers the standard comfort of the Hampton hotels of the new generation and is located in the cosy neighbourhood of Gdansk-Oliwa. The hotel has several highly positive points. First of all the location. It is right in the centre of this small and pretty town, only 100 metres away from the railway station and in front an immense public park, which will delight nature lovers. The sea and its beautiful shores are less than 1 kilometre away. The historical centre of Gdansk can be reached in 30 minutes with trams 6 and 12, both stopping in front of the hotel. Transfer from / to the airport by public transportation is very straightforward: bus #122, coming from the airport, stops just in front of the hotel, at the stop named “Oliwa04”; the trip takes about 40 minutes and the frequency is one run per hour. Rooms are the standards to be found in the Hampton hotels of the new generation: small, but well designed and validly furnished with all the amenities needed by a traveller (except the refrigerator); soundproofing is good, and also the rooms fronting the high traffic main street are quiet. The hotel is a low raise building of only three floors, and the reception is at floor 1 (floor 2, according to American numbering). Status of maintenance appears good and cleanliness is also good. Room servicing is generally made in the afternoon, but this is an inconvenience that is now common to many hotels of the Hilton chain. The staff is appropriately friendly, but they will not overdue it. Prices are definitely moderate. For any need of the traveller, a very large supermarket is available at the ground floor of the same building of the hotel. In this decidedly positive picture, breakfast is out of tune, being characterized by scarcity of choices and a not exciting cuisine. Concerning the scarcity of choices, its enough to say that in the six days of my stay I never saw potatoes, and I could not eat eggs cooked in other ways than scrambled, with the sole exception of the day I had my breakfast very early in the morning and found a tray containing 2 (two) fried eggs in total: I took both, and nobody after me had the chance to get one. This illustrates how the buffet is reasonably stocked in the very early hours of the morning, but then it is not replenished regularly, so that after some times the trays become a pile of unpleasantly rummaged leftovers, and nobody seems to care of refilling them or rearranging the food in order to make it more presentable. Another remark concerns the clothes-dryer installed in the bathroom. It is a very useful accessory and is perfectly functional, but a sign placed in a prominent position strongly advises against using it, because it could get “discoloured”; in which case the hotel would charge the customer a fee of 1000 Zloty ! This is the worst hotel I have stayed in and I have been to Zanzibar 11 times! The only nice thing about this hotel is that it is right on the beach. The manager right down to the staff is as rude as they come and not concerned with the wellbeing of his staying and paying guests. What you get for what you pay for in terms of us having booked the luxury rooms is worlds apart! We will most definitely never be back! Our vacation was spoilt because of this.
