Helpful check in staff, nice food for dinner

First of all I want to leave a good note for the diving school at that location. Helpfull staff, excellent service. Price is higher compare to other places, but I had one on one dives with my instructor so happy about that. I would defenitely go back there is the resort wasn't that really bad. About the resort: The 3.7 rating should already be a warning to be taken seriously. They claim to be a high end resort, but it is the opposite. The service is absolutely at point zero, you can sit for hours at the beach or the swimming pool, but do not expect someone to come from the restaurant to take on order, they wil simply ignore you. When you see this lack of service it is often a lack of training or no customer interest at all. You expect this resoirt to be run by a decent General Manager. Well exactly there is the problem. Mr. Romeo Co rather would go into a discussion and even threaten you than to listen to guests. I ordered a pizza with seafood (on the menu was not mentioned cheese, which is normal for a shrimp pizza and exactly why I ordered it. (on other pizza's the cheese was mentioned). I got a pizza with missing ingredi?nts (they were not on stock, apperently communication for that is not neccesay) and the pizza was overloaded with chewy cheese, so much that you could not even taste the shrimps anymore. Knowing myself, eating the pizza with that amount of chees would certainly mean a stomach burn for me. The general manager came to discuss with me (after the waitress and after the chef of the kitchen. The completely unqualified guy, went into a discussion that pizza's without cheese do not exist (maybe only in his mind), He could not take it back as there was some piece eaten (correct, I tried it for maybe 10% of the whole pizza). What he wanted to do with it if it was the whole pizza (give it to the next guests?) I was the only one in the restaurant and as far as I could see the only person in the whole resort. After that he tried the threathening way (yes really). If I was to send back the pizza, he would deduct it from the salary of the waitress, so I should really think about that. She was not to blame, he is as fully ignorant manager, was to blame. A manager is there for the guests, in a high end resort (rooms are easily 200 dollars a night), you would think you would be respectd as a guest. Well forget that. He did enough to be sure I will not return here. Prizes for food are ridicoulous and than you do not even have your ingredients on stock. You try to imitate a italian kitchen, but haven't got the feintest idea about Italian food. (you serve a Pasta carbonara with an Alfredo creamy sauce, It is on the menu, really). Storeboard ingredients (like the dressing on the ceasar salad, which by the way had nothing to do with a ceasar salad, as you went through the ingredients. Mr Arrogance us ruling as a king looking to win his battle and at the same time loose the war. Was he trained and schooled he would realize that, but he doesn't

We had a wonderful stay at the historic Abbey. Room was great- cool red lights! The breakfast buffet had very good decor, service, croissants and bagels- warm from oven! Very helpful & friendly staff at front desk. The only drawback is there are a LOT of stairs! (And no elevator). Definitely recommend.

We had booked a superior room but were assigned to a room in an outbuilding that didn’t have an elevator. The room and bathroom were plenty large but without a balcony and a window that faced into another building. The staff very kindly changed rooms for us.
