Overall experience was great. Lodge was lovely and well appointed. We did struggle to locate the lodge in the dark, lack of signage and lighting led us to walking around in circles for 10mins but we eventually found it, all adds to the adventure I suppose! We picked the lodge as offered the ability for fishing directly from the lodge while those not fishing could relax in the hot tub or just chill out but we could all be together. From a fishing point of view I found the lake in need of some TLC. Lots branches/dead wood in places and the bottom was very silty. We were allocated lodge 4 out of 5 with anglers in lodge 1 and 5. This gave me very little water to fish in especially with the person next door having 6 rods (3x 2sets) as you can imagine that’s a lot of line pressure on such a small lake given you can only fish from one side. Bait boats were allowed and it’s lucky there were as had no ability to cast lines overhead due to tree branches. In terms of catching, I’m not aware of any carp being caught in the 72hrs we were there I did manage one bream as did our neighbours as well as a small pike. Overall a great venue for a relaxing weekend, lake needs a little bit of work to really turn it into a great venue. More thought is needed in the allocation of lodges based who’s fishing or not as we could have been spaced out better this weekend to give everyone more water to fish as a couple of lodges where either empty or weren’t fishing.

Front desk was super friendly & area is great… but the mattress was worse than any of the hotels I’ve stayed in for 1/4th of the cost. At this price, I would think they could afford to replace mattresses, but this one was clearly old. It was dipped so badly in the center that I had to work to roll uphill to the edge of the bed. Could have been a great stay if the most crucial aspect of a hotel room was decent. The snacks area was great!

Good condition. Elevator was a pain and the parking lot was subpar

The room was clean, staff very friendly, and the location would be perfect being across the street from a beach - but since the weather was not beach worthy, and not peak season (January) we did not get to use the beach, nor the outdoor tub on our verenda, and pretty much had the entire floor to ourselves and the dining room! It’s a new hotel, being just a year old, and I’m sure it would have been more fun later in the year with more people!
