Bed super comfy, place super cosy. Tom (host) is a one of a kind man. So welcoming, so kind and super generous. Offered out his own apples in the Morning (can’t promise the same for you haha). I can’t recommend staying here more.

We stayed in The Windsor Trooper for 3 nights. On arrival we were greeted with a very warm welcome. Our room had everything we needed plus more. It was spotless cleaned, warm and had complimentary tea, coffee, hand soap and shower gels. The atmosphere in the pub is electric and welcoming. We will be back to Windsor to visit family and will be staying at The Windsor Trooper Pub & Inn again. Would highly recommend to all our friends and family. Tucked away in a village just outside Shaftesbury it is a perfect country inn. Taken over in August 2025 by Rupert, Sophie and family they have major plans for sympathetic improvements to upgrade the large comfortable en suite bedrooms each with great views over the surrounding countryside. This friendly and extra helpful couple and their staff run an excellent hostelry with a delicious food and beverage offering. You can eat in the restaurant, the bar or in one of several cosy side rooms, each with a real log fire. Lovely to come back to after a busy day out. Would thoroughly recommend and look forward to our next visit hopefully with warmer and drier weather so that we can also enjoy the large grounds.

We recently stayed as a family and had a fantastic time. From the very beginning, the service and friendliness of the staff were simply brilliant — it truly felt like nothing was too much trouble. They were especially kind and welcoming to our little girl, which made the stay even more special for us. We ate in both the hotel restaurant and the relaxed lounge, and both experiences were excellent. The food, service, and overall atmosphere were spot on. We also made use of the cinema room, which was a real treat to come back to after a long day exploring, and the spa area was great too. Our room was fantastic — a great size, beautifully decorated, and a perfect family space with incredible views. Although the weather was awful during our stay, the amazing location and views of the beach below made it feel even more dramatic and spectacular. A special mention goes to Patrick on reception, as well as a lovely Romanian member of staff whose name we didn’t get—both were incredibly kind, helpful, and friendly. Honestly, I’m not sure I’ve stayed at a hotel where the level of guest service was so consistently high from everyone we encountered, and this was echoed by other guests we spoke to as well. There were just a couple of very minor negatives—the jacuzzi was out of service due to cleaning, and the letterbox in Room 15 was slightly damaged, which meant the wind howled through on the stormy nights. Aside from that, it was a brilliant stay. Thank you to everyone who made it so special—outstanding staff in a fantastic location. Also the breakfast in amazing 10/10

It was a very nice room in a seperate building at the back of the pub by the car park. It even had a small fridge as well as Kettle and coffee etc. Very quiet, nice location. Looks like a nice pub too but I didn't try it.

We had a great stay with premier inn, quite and peaceful night, I truly appreciate Miss Grace at front desk for her wonderful patience and very polite service.

Awful. Lodge stank of dog wee, the carpet was damp throughout in the living area. Roast dinner at restaurant was very poor. Would not recommend.

Enjoyed every aspect of our overnight stay. Great staff without exception. Incredible view of the water hole with African animals frolicking by the setting sun. Loved lazing by the pool in the afternoon (us, that is, not the animals!), enjoying a drink and watching the incredible spectacle. Beautiful sunrise safari. Guide Daryl was excellent. Wonderful experience. Look forward to returning!

5 star service We have stayed here many times and always had superb, polite and attentive service. Paul the owner goes out of his way to ensure everything runs smoothly from checking in, parking your car and taking you to the airport in good time. Paul also offers a service to pick you up from the airport on your return and return you to your car. Can't fault this fabulous service and will definitely use again.

Appreciate the room being ready earlier than check for us. However, that may have resulted I. Fitted sheet missing from the main bed & mopping of floors. Having a crawling baby proving in the first five minutes the floors were clearly missed resulting in black knees feet & hands. Dissapointing. Thankful we had a picnic blanket to cover the floor. Hair all over the mattress protector that had no top sheet as well. I’d look past this park in future.
