Clean room. Staff was kind. Parking was easy. Kitchen was stocked with just enough equipment. Our lodge was great except for the children (about 8-10 y.o) running nonstop above us. My husband and I were looking forward to a quiet and relaxing weekend but that did not happen due to the all day noise that went late into the evening and began again very early in the morning. The Boathouse restaurant had a great view but the food options could use some improvement.

The room was pristine (very clean). The decor was lovely and the room was very comfortable for our overnight stay. Staff at check in were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely return again.

Troon is a cute little town, and this hotel was perfect. The views from the dining room and any sea-facing room are wonderful. Even my room from the back had a great view. But the comment everyone makes about the friendliness of the staff is on point. I've certainly stayed at places with a stand-out employee, but I've never stayed anywhere in decades of travel that had more invariably friendly and helpful staff. It will hardly seem real except that they're all genuine. Must be a fun place to work. Would gladly stay here again and build a trip around the visit.

The staff at the DoubleTree were great. Very helpful. We got upgraded to a larger suite, but the suite appeared to have been recently renovated and not complete. There were no dressers and the closet was small. The bed was a little worn and sunk in some in the middle. The bar area had 2 TVs, but one was playing fairly loud music with inappropriate lyrics. The bartender disappeared numerous times and did not seem concerned with the cleanliness of the bar. Morning breakfast was nice, biscuits were great. Unfortunately, they only had one person working to fill coffee, bring out extra food and cash people out. The poor woman working the breakfast was constantly busy and found it difficult to refill coffee or get us a check. The site did have a vehicle to take you into town and the driver was very friendly and knowledgeable. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but I just expected more from a DoubleTree hotel.

We celebrated my Mum's birthday with a scrumptious afternoon tea in beautiful surroundings. All the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The food was presented beautifully and tasted wonderful. It was pleasing having a variety of hot items as well as the sandwiches, scones and cakes. There was too much to eat, so they boxed up the leftovers and we enjoyed them at home later in the day.

The hotel is lovely. Exceptionally clean and comfortable. The dinner was superb as are the wines that are offered. The owners are welcoming and accommodating and offer a wonderful experience.

Great hotel and we had a great time. Food was delicious. Spa was quite small and sauna and steam room didn’t get hot enough.
