Large clean room which had a fridge. Great view down into the town. The spa was great. Lovely hotel. There is a garage to park in although we have a larger vehicle and managed to find space on the road outside. Very friendly reception staff who spoke English.

Clean comfortable cabin. Easy parking next cabin. Cabin near to swimming pool

Staff were amazing, the only issues were around the food and late night noise. Morning breakfast didn't have much variety. At night they have entertainment which can be very loud, this could be rectified by using sound absorbing materials in the main atrium. One little note which would improve the rooms would be a n information leaflet containing important information such as Buffet opening times, things to do, phone numbers Etc. We WILL be staying here again.

?????????? A unique and memorable stay in Kaikoura. Wacky Stays is quirky, creative, and full of character — not your standard accommodation, and that’s exactly what we loved. Dan and Phoebe were lovely hosts, showed us around, and even let us help feed the animals, which our family really enjoyed. You can really feel the passion behind this place.

It is convenient and close to the airport as it also has shuttle bus directly to the airport.

If you really want to experience the tea planters colonial lifestyle, stay at the Governor’s Mansion. The mansion is located a few kilometers from the main road in the middle of a tea plantation with fantastic views and a serene atmosphere. The Staff was outstanding! Yoga, Jicont (sp?) the wonderful chef, and the entire team were so kind and took very good care of us. The best food we’ve had on trip so far. The rice and curry dish was amazing. The western dishes are prepared very well. The rooms are very comfortable. We thank everyone for a great three night stay. We didn’t want to leave. The road to the hotel is fine. Most of it is a hard packed rock based dirt road. We had no problem going up and down several times in our little tiny Honda rental car (self-driving) Do not let the reviews with negative comments on the road deter you from staying here.
