Very cute hotel and really good value for megeve. The rooms were nice with a good view from the balcony however the rooms and hallways are soooooo dark! Even with all of the lights on it was dark. We met another couple staying there and they noticed the same thing. The location is out of town (1ish km up a steep hill) and whilst they offer shuttles to town from 7am - 11pm and to the mountain from 9am - 6pm we waited ages! We even found that drivers would drive past us cause they were full.. then come back and let other people in the car before us even though they’d verbally acknowledge they saw us 30 minutes ago .. so they were full again so at times we were waiting up to 1 hour.. it got to the point we ended up getting the free shuttle into town just to ensure we weren’t stuck at the mountain. The dry room has lockers in it .. but we weren’t given a key for our room however it’s just a cupboard to store your equipment in so don’t think it would actually benefit the drying aspect. Overall I would stay here again as it’s cheap but I’d potentially bring a torch and use the free town shuttle bus more or hire a car.

Stay there a few times a year. Always a good value stay with a great restaurant

Hello, I am writing this review to honestly share our experience, especially to help families with young children. If you are looking for a hotel suitable for children up to six years old, this is not a good option. The swimming pool is not child-friendly. It is 1.55 meters deep throughout and has no shallow area or seating ledges to rest. There is nowhere to sit and relax in the pool. I am 1.72 meters tall and still had to stand on my tiptoes while holding my five-year-old daughter the entire time. It was very uncomfortable and stressful instead of relaxing. We also had repeated issues with the magnetic room key card. It kept stopping working, and we had to go to reception twice to fix it. Additionally, we requested a comb because there was none in the room and we had forgotten ours. We were told it would be brought to us, but it never arrived before we checked out. The restaurant dinner was also very disappointing. The food had no flavor or seasoning at all. I ordered a carbonara, and the pasta was extremely overcooked and completely bland. Considering the high price we paid, the quality was unacceptable. We stayed only one night and decided to leave because the experience did not meet our expectations. Ich war nun schon das dritte Mal im wundersch?nen Hotel Rieser. Dieses Mal mit meinem Mann und unserem Baby. Wir werden wieder kommen! Die Familie Rieser pflegt einen famili?ren und liebevollen Umgang insbesondere mit Kindern. Wir durften das Hotel schon des ?fteren weiterempfehlen und konnten alle positiv beeindrucken.

Good value hotel in a good location near transport and lots of restaurants. Friendly staff that are willing to help if you need anything. I will stay there again

Amazing service and room, the restock on shortbread biscuits really topped it off. My guy at the reception was great for information and helping us out. The hotel location is perfect, right next to victoria street and when you step outside you have a clear view of the castle. The facilities are good, with a sauna and swimming pool nearby. Only thing I would mention is the shower temperature not being above luke warm but that’s personal preference. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Wat een fantastisch verblijf hebben wij gehad in Asterhof! Vriendelijk, behulpzaam, alles zeer netjes in orde, uitgebreid/lekker ontbijt, en een heerlijke spa om te relaxen na een dagje ski?n. Annie en Patrick zijn van alle markten thuis om iedereen zo goed mogelijk van dienst te kunnen zijn. Een echte aanrader!

Very comfortable room with all amenities including a Roberts radio. Bottle of complimentary water is always welcome. Staff were friendly and helpful.
