The first day was fine except the restaurant closed right after our check in. The second day no cook after breakfast, no bartender, no manager, no guard, and no cable. Needed a plunger, but front desk didn’t know where to get one and said she could have it looked at in the morning. I found a hokey one in the women’s bathroom by the front desk and eventually got the toilet unplugged. Electricity went out early morning on check out day, so no shower. Pool was ok, had small leaves in it after being cleaned. However showered the night before and water pressure was great but the shower curtain had mold on it.

Beautiful room and a perfect location. We would definitely stay here again

Location Location Location! No frills room, but everything you need for a quick inexpensive stay in Blackpool

Friendly and helpful staff. Big shout out to the lovely lady that was at reception and all the housekeeping staff. Thank you for being helpful and kind thru out our stay.

We love Mariposa. We first visited in March 2020, which was a couples trip, and returned in March 2025 with our teenage nephew. Now I'm trying to get friends to go! If you want to travel to Belize, book with Mariposa and your vacation will come together seamlessly, from airport pick-up to day trip adventures, to meals that please everyone in your group. One aspect that we really loved about the 2025 trip was seeing how many staff members from 2020 were still working with Mariposa five years later (looking at you Gladimir and Robi). However the most special staffer for us is definitely Norma, the chef. We originally chose Mariposa in 2020 because of the plant-based menu and we took Norma's cooking class. We happily returned five years later after making sure she was still in the kitchen because we vegans knew how well we'd dine in the jungle. We got to tour the new on-site garden and are excited to see in a future trip what they do with the fresh from garden to table options. Even if you want a trip that preserves the jungle rather than destroying it with meat production, stay at Mariposa and let Norma take care of you with the plant-based menu.

near the city center and a nice old building but a bit shady nearby but the hotel was super clean and nice and friendly receptionist

Hotel is shabby and down at heel. Although there has been some attempt at improving the condition of the rooms, there is a pervasive sense that management do not care. No hot water for the shower on arrival (resolved - boiler was off!), Tired and marked bed linen although mattress felt newish. Breakfast (not purchased) was a joke. Billed as continental it fell far short of that description. The only positive, whuch raised my rating considerably was the staff member that seemed to be there morning, moon and night, working the bar, reception, and who knows what else. She was always smiling, pleasant, and caring. The only other member of staff, the gentleman that checked me in was the pokar opposite, dressed in track pants and old top with a surly, indifferent manner.

What a find! Very quiet, secluded and private villas with well equiped kitchens and comfortable bed. Beautiful, large screened porch area. Very clean. On site managers keep the beautiful, extensive grounds meticulously maintained as well as the pool and BBQ area. Enjoyed hiking to both Big Rock Falls and a cool cave.
