Una volta si diceva che i marinai facevano promesse che non mantenevano. Qui però siamo tra le montagne, all’Hotel Falkensteiner Carinzia, un 4 stelle superior che vorrebbe sembrare quasi un 5 stelle… ma che purtroppo si perde in troppe mancanze e in atteggiamenti parecchio subdoli. Siamo stati dal 16 al 18 maggio, 4 persone in 2 camere, spendendo circa 555 euro a camera per due notti. E sinceramente, da una struttura di questo livello, ci si aspetta ben altro. La cosa più fastidiosa è che l’hotel promette servizi che poi non mantiene. Nella brochure cartacea e anche nella brochure online disponibile sulla TV in camera era chiaramente indicato che, per chi aveva la mezza pensione ed arrivava nel primo pomeriggio, era previsto un brunch/pranzo veloce. Bene: questo servizio non esisteva. Quando abbiamo chiesto spiegazioni alla reception, nessuno ha contestato nulla. La risposta è stata: “Tanto non ne usufruiva quasi nessuno e quindi non lo facciamo più”. Perfetto… allora toglietelo dalle brochure. Perché se un servizio è scritto, pubblicizzato e incluso nell’offerta, il cliente lo paga e lo pretende. Altra situazione molto discutibile: la sera, entrando nella sala buffet, trovavi una persona che preparava aperitivi davanti agli ospiti. Nessun cartello, nessuna indicazione chiara che fossero a pagamento. Te li proponevano con estrema naturalezza e tu pensavi fossero inclusi. Poi al conto scopri che costano 10 euro a testa. Tre Spritz e un analcolico: 30 euro. Ma perché non dirlo subito? Perché non scriverlo chiaramente? Questo modo di fare lascia davvero l’amaro in bocca. Anche sui punti fedeltà stessa storia: avevo maturato 250 punti, pari a 25 euro di sconto. Se non fossi andato personalmente alla reception a chiederli e pretenderli, avrebbero fatto finta di niente. Non è per i 25 euro. è il principio. E poi ci sono i dettagli, quelli che fanno davvero la differenza in un hotel che vuole definirsi “superior”. In camera trovi una bottiglia d’acqua solo il primo giorno. Poi più nulla. In una struttura di questo livello almeno una bottiglia al giorno dovrebbe essere offerta, anche semplicemente naturale. Sono piccole attenzioni che fanno sentire il cliente accolto e coccolato. Stessa cosa nella SPA: il primo giorno nelle saune trovi mele e tè. I giorni successivi solo tè e basta. Perché? Anche qui: piccoli dettagli che dimostrano poca continuità e poca cura. E altra cosa assurda: la brochure online in camera era praticamente solo in tedesco e inglese. Certo, la lingua italiana non è un obbligo per la categoria 4 stelle superior, ma per una struttura di questo livello, vicinissima al confine italiano e frequentata anche da molti clienti italiani, sarebbe una cortesia e un’attenzione commerciale che farebbe davvero la differenza. Sono proprio questi dettagli che distinguono un hotel normale da uno che vuole davvero essere di categoria superiore. The place is very accessible and just about 5mins walk from Dali Commune 大意园吉祥街. Other places like Ancient City and the Southgate market are about 20mins walk. There are also alot of food stalls at night just about 8mins away. Also despite being close to these areas the place is quiet at night. The staff is very very helpful and accomodating. I stayed at the top floor (3rd) and was helped to carry my luggage on check in and check out (also from/to my Didi). The room is very spacious and clean. Toilettries are complete and has a good hair conditioner. Cleaning done daily and towels changed daily. The only thing with top floor is it tends to get hot in the afternoon even with AC on but kinda understandable with the weather. At night it becomes cold so its not a big issu. Also didnt have problems with my Taobao parcels as they helped me receive and keep my parcels for me. Overall im glad with my stay and had actually extended another day.

The property is expansive, serene and includes excellent parking on site. The room itself was very clean, comfortable and quiet. The hosts were very friendly, helpful and provided us with a welcoming glass of wine when we arrived. The breakfast included freshly boiled eggs and locally sourced products. My wife and I enjoyed walking around the local rural district. This is a great place to use as a stop-over as you travel across France.

The best pub dinner since we left Victoria! The Isa Hotel was recommended to us as the best value steak in town, and it didn’t disappoint. As pub meals go, it was well presented, cooked appropriately, and well served. The venue was comfortable and relatively quiet for a Saturday night, much better than we’d expected. We will be coming back.

Friendly staff, lovely property. Ate in the restaurant every night, excellent food and service.

Overall this hotel is good and location is convenient too which can easily get connected to perth city through public transport. Room is quite big and comfortable too. Satisfied with total 9 nights staying in this hotel and would recommend others for this hotel too.

A hidden gem in the Yunnan countryside, absolute highlight of our trip This place is a little paradise. A beautiful farm stay surrounded by lush greenery, with one of the best views of the snowy mountain we saw on our entire trip. The kind of place you didn’t know you needed until you’re there. The animals on the farm are a lovely touch, and special shoutout to Dou Mi the dog, who basically adopted us and gave us a personal tour. An absolute sweetheart. What really sets this place apart is the staff. Jason the manager speaks excellent English and went above and beyond with recommendations and making sure we had everything we needed. When we accidentally left our phone in a Didi, one of the team helped us track it down and we were so relieved and grateful. Little things like the WeChat group for communication, reminders for breakfast time, and even offering a breakfast takeaway bag for early departures show just how thoughtful and attentive everyone is. The location is perfect too, a 10-minute walk from the old town but peaceful and quiet at night. Falling asleep to the sound of the stream nearby was genuinely one of the best sleeps of the trip. The only tiny suggestion I’d make is a small welcome fruit basket or drink on arrival, something a few other local guesthouses do and it’s always a warm touch. But it’s absolutely not mandatory and didn’t affect our experience at all. We absolutely loved our stay and would 100% return.
