This is a luxurious hotel. Free breakfast, spa, infinity pool, hot tub, Haitian artwork, Julan’s gourmet restaurant, Coral Beach Bar and the beach to ourselves most of the time.

Recently spent just under 3 weeks in an Ocean Front Deluxe Villa. This was my 10th visit to Shoal Bay Villas. Obviously there’s a reason I return every year. The rooms are perfect, and clean, they have everything, especially the Ocean View and the peaceful sounds of the Ocean. It truly is paradise. The crew is awesome, from Kathy, Rachel, Becky, Monica, Tish, the housekeepers, and maintenance crew there is nothing more one would need of a vacation They know every where to go and not to go, and take care of everything possibly you need. I have already booked for next year and will be bringing my family too, they too have been to SBV and since their first visit that’s all they talk about and cannot wait for next January to go back. Beautiful landscaping and villa decor. Ivor was a terrific host. He went above & beyond to bring a forgotten phone to the ferry when we departed.

No hot water, no useable bath tub (which was what sold us on it), very poor wifi so problematic tv. Grimy pool. Restaurant shut at 4 and had no menu. The very worst thing was we spoke to the manager and he really either didn't understand what the problem was or didn't see why any of that should be a problem. This is very confused. It's not really a hotel and no one made our bed. It's on a main road and under the flight path. Lovely manager but we felt like we'd beaten him to the ground by complaining and taken the food from the mouths of his children. We got a 50% refund but only because we asked twice. I mean, this is someone who held his hand under some very lukewarm/cold water and siad it was hot so.... Oh, and all the lovely grounds are up a hill behind you.

Loved our stay, great central location. Easy to walk everywhere you need to in Playa del Carmen. The apparment was clean and spacious, hot water in the shower. Staff very friendly, particularly the guy on the desk - he gave us some good recommendations. Would definitely recommend to others and stay again, worth paying the extra for the city veiw.. although our view was only a building it was a bigger balcony. Pool was great with shade by the bar. Some nights are noisy, it varied some nights it bothered us, other nights it didn't, but it would be hard to stay this central without noise. Only improvement would be extra cleaning, we stayed two weeks and our room was only done twice, at check in we where advised it was every 4 days this would have been better than once a week.

Convenient location for the places I needed to visit. Less than 10 mins in most cases. Rooms were relatively quiet although the resident dog intermittently barked for some time but eventually stopped. The room was clean and the host was responsive and welcoming and provided additional help and services. There was cold and hot shower, toiletries and a small bottle of water although it seemed I accidentally got two. I did not notice any coffee or tea bags but I did not enquire as my stay was short. I used their taxi service and Michael, the driver is a great guy. Almost like we were old friends catching up after several years.

Very clean and the price was a good value, nice proximity to the beach also, we would stay here again

Our stay at Two Sandals – A Boutique Hotel was absolutely amazing. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcomed and genuinely cared for. Their energy, professionalism, and kindness truly set this place apart. Every question we had was answered with a smile, and they went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. The hotel itself is beautiful — peaceful, clean, and felt like a true home away from home. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully prepared. What really touched me was how the staff helped with a last-minute decoration request — they made it happen so effortlessly and made the experience even more special. If you’re looking for a boutique stay with outstanding service and a relaxing atmosphere, this is it. I would absolutely stay here again!
