A quiet location at the edge of a small village Gwaelod y Garth Inn is a real gem. We had a warm welcome from all staff who were very helpful. Our room was spotlessly clean and the huge bed was so comfortable. We had a snack and a couple of beers upon arrival - their lovely own craft brew! Breakfast on the next morning was superb. They have very high standards and the food draws custom from far and wide. We left for the local Train Station at Taff's Well with the help of a staff member who gave us a lift in his own car as it was pouring with rain. He was literally going the extra mile to ensure that until the very end of our stay our visit had been a special one!

We chose turtle beach resort with the huge slash & slide, as a place to meet up with several family members, all of us travelling long distances with kids, to attend a wedding. The idea was to give the kids something really fun to reward them after the tedious journey there, & let their wild side out, with maximum fun in the minimum time we had before getting ready for the wedding. But when we arrived, the big splash & slide was closed for renovations. At no point were we, the customers informed of this before booking or at check in. What a let down. We certainly wouldn’t have booked here. Or we would have expected some type of consolation for the let down. Also the deadlock on our apartment door was not functional, so as soon as the toddlers realised they could open the front door, none of the parents could relax, we had to be on high alert monitoring that door. Also the apartment staircase is very very steep, so definitely also required monitoring & assistance for small children, & anyone carrying a child, or going up or down at night. Sensor lights for the staircase or continuous rail might have helped make that safer. Otherwise the apartment was lovely, clean. staff were lovely & responsive. They did confidently give us wrong info about the women’s change rooms in the pool areas being suitable to begin getting ready for our wedding. There wasn’t women’s rooms. Just a unisex cubical & an outdoor shower. But they did organise an early check in soon after. Much Appreciated.

Staff was really helpful as we bought some ready meal from nearby supermarket, staff was willingly helping to reheat and provide cutlery. Location was good too, just really near the train station access to Paris centre.

I did not get as far as staying with them - I tried a couple of times to book and received confirmation that everything had gone through but it later transpired that my card had been declined. How? I never got any such notifications. It was all down to me selecting the discounted rate. Jean Luc contacted me directly on Whatsapp, wanting me to pay immediately. There was no system in place to do so. I thought we would maybe come to a solution in a friendly manner but I felt that there was no desire to do so from Jean Luc's side. He was reluctant to receive my feedback on the whole booking experience. A shame, really, as the place looks quite nice. I did not get a great vibe, to be honest. The direct messaging looking for money left me feeling uncomfortable also.
