This place is phenomenal! Mallnitz is a nice small town beneath the Ankogel ski resort and Haus Waldruhe blends in perfectly. The rooms are spacious, renovated and full of local arts (for one, I found photos of the Mallnitz - Bad Gastein train tunnel from 1930's). Next, THE HOST, Henk is the true king of hospitality. Whatever you need, he's here for you - responsive, friendly and always having your comfort as top priority. What Henk also does perfectly is the food. If you stay here you must check his food in the Stube. He's preparing great burgers, ribs, and for the ones that do not like meat... the salmon is also delicious (check out the photos). If you're planning to come to Mallnitz to ski on Ankogel or Moeltaller Glaetscher - this is your perfect place to stay. Speaking of skiing, if you want to leave the car there is a bus stop 300m from Hauz Waldruhe and bus 103 takes you to both resorts. Did I mention it's free? Of course it is because you are staying at the place that supports the locals (just ask for the Alpine Pearls Mallnitz card) This place is great, 10/10 or even 11/10 if that's possible.

2. Thoughtful Amenities Strategy: The room provided basic toiletries like toothbrushes and towels. Even better, the hotel lobby offered additional, well-known brand skincare products (like facial wash, lotion) and more oral care items for guests to take as needed. This approach minimizes waste while catering to higher needs.
3. A Pleasant Surprise – In-Room Hair Straightener: Another delightful discovery! A hair straightener was already provided in the room. This was particularly appreciated, as many hotels only offer one upon request. As someone who really needs it to maintain smooth, sleek hair (even though the provided shampoo/conditioner were decent), this thoughtful inclusion saved me the hassle of asking and added a touch of convenience I truly valued.
4. No Smoke Smell Issue: Even though we stayed in a smoking room, there was absolutely no residual smoke smell. The air was fresh, showing the hotel's dedication to thorough cleaning and ventilation.

· Super Convenient for Daily Needs: There are two convenience stores right downstairs, perfect for grabbing drinks, snacks, or a late-night bite anytime.

· Charging-Friendly: While the number of power outlets wasn't excessive, the room came equipped with a multi-purpose charging cable. This was a very considerate touch for modern travelers, providing a backup even if you forgot your adapter or a specific cable.
· Peaceful Nights: The room had good sound insulation. We only heard an external vehicle (like an ambulance) once, so overall sleep quality was undisturbed.
· TV & Entertainment: The channel selection was limited, but for guests focused on exploring the city, this wasn't an issue at all.
· Breakfast is a Must-Try!: Highly recommend adding breakfast! The roasted beef bowl, seafood bowl, and Japanese curry were exceptionally delicious, exceeding the standard of typical hotel breakfasts. The most surprising part was that the breakfast buffet included unlimited wine, which is quite rare and made for a perfect start to the day.
