So far we haven't received the package we booked,we checked in yesterday. We arrived for our " early " check in, included in our booking rate only to find after much bureaucracy and no information that the room wouldn't be ready until 3 pm. So much for an early check in. The room we were allocated was disappointing it stank of tobacco included an ash tray and over looked a busy road. We immediately asked to change rooms, but the abrupt receptionist said he didn't have anything, rathern interesting because they were still advertising rooms on *********** as available! His retort to the tobacco stench was that he " couldn't supervise guests in their rooms".... We also said it doesn't have a tea / coffee maker,no water and no slippers all supposed to be included in our room. The maid came with an aerosol and sprayed the room,..... brought a tray with one tea bag each,one coffee pod each and appliances,no slippers were available apparently! The bedside lamp didn't work and internet speed is poor and unstable. The package we had booked included half board so we went to dinner when it opened @ 8pm, which is quite late. We couldn't find the restaurant, corridors are not well lit or signposted. So back to reception where the reception staff asked a maintenance guy walking by to take us! Food was quite good, cooking staff keen to please but waiters clearing were miserable.The place lacked atmosphere and was canteen like,self serve and soul less. Back to the room with grubby towels,one each,one shower gel and one soap for 2 sinks,no spare loo rolls! At 2.30 am the room / below and around loud noise woke us,with vibration and jungle style music, little did we know that there's a nightclub below. This music,car horns,police whistles continued until approximately 5 am. We looked outside and it was chaotic, breakdown trucks,masses of young people,taxis,scooters,police etc etc, massively intrusive. We didn't sleep and are both very tired. They / he at reception said we could change rooms today, what a relief but we're only here for a few nights stay so not very relaxing. The receptionist so far have been far from helpful,he really didn't care about our room or our experience. Nothing was offered to make things right and he has created a bad impression of this hotel and the management of it. We're currently sitting listening to noisy traffic and whilst the lounges when you first arrive are well furnished the bedroom we have isn't. Furniture is old and out of date, there's only one small bedroom chair,two outdoor chairs in the noisy area which require cushions and a very small terrace with raised flower bed empty of plants, just weeds,its very neglected. Let's see what and if we get a different quieter room, I'll then add and edit this review. In the meantime its exhausting and i wouldn't recommend this to anyone who wants a peaceful relaxing break.

Very helpful staff who let us check in a bit earlier. Spotlessly clean. Very spacious. Good location that allowed us to walk into the town centre - which is great because parking is impossible in Queenstown.
