Beautiful property and cabin! Very quiet and relaxing and the food was amazing! Rod and Lori were very accommodating and so nice. I can't wait to go back there. Highly recommended!

We love Mariposa. We first visited in March 2020, which was a couples trip, and returned in March 2025 with our teenage nephew. Now I'm trying to get friends to go! If you want to travel to Belize, book with Mariposa and your vacation will come together seamlessly, from airport pick-up to day trip adventures, to meals that please everyone in your group. One aspect that we really loved about the 2025 trip was seeing how many staff members from 2020 were still working with Mariposa five years later (looking at you Gladimir and Robi). However the most special staffer for us is definitely Norma, the chef. We originally chose Mariposa in 2020 because of the plant-based menu and we took Norma's cooking class. We happily returned five years later after making sure she was still in the kitchen because we vegans knew how well we'd dine in the jungle. We got to tour the new on-site garden and are excited to see in a future trip what they do with the fresh from garden to table options. Even if you want a trip that preserves the jungle rather than destroying it with meat production, stay at Mariposa and let Norma take care of you with the plant-based menu.

This is an excellent Pousada. All the staff we encountered were super friendly and helpful. Despite being very well adapted to being a hotel, there is still the feel of entering a true medieval castle when you arrive and head through massive gates and vaulted rooms on your way to reception. We stayed in the new wing as we were after comfort, space and a balcony with a view and we weren’t disappointed. Our room was spacious, light and had a couple of chairs from which to admire the view out over open fields. Breakfast was to the usual high standard at a pousada with some variety each day in the hot options, cheeses, cakes etc. An excellent stay although there's nothing else of much interest around nearby. Highly recommended. Our only regret was that we hadn’t booked to stay a little longer.

We loved our stay at The Maya Mountain Lodge. Though the rooms are not glamorous, the location was great and the staff absolutely outstanding. Every single staff member was attentive to our needs. They made our planning effortless by arranging everything for us. They greeted us with smiles and were knowledgeable of local flora and fauna and enjoyed sharing their knowledge with us. We will be repeat customers wirhout a doubt.

Cute and nice breakfast. Parking lot is a bit of a challenge. Also would be hard to climb all the stairs for those with mobility issues. Personal pool is neat but it wasn’t clean. Staff is friendly.

Due to the terrain, some stairs are necessary to access certain domes. We always recommend that guests with mobility concerns contact us in advance so we can assign the most accessible option available.As for the private pool, we sincerely apologize if it was not in perfect condition at the moment of use. All plunge pools are cleaned and checked regularly; however, being surrounded by nature, leaves or small natural debris can occasionally fall in between maintenance checks. Had we been notified during your stay, we would have immediately arranged for it to be cleaned again.We truly appreciate your balanced feedback and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for an even better experience.

Room was very clean, hotel was very quiet. Staff was nice. Free breakfast was good! I love that there was a fountain for free drinks.

Convenient to what we needed to do and where we needed to go. Room was beautifully presented. My ususal complaint that curtains do not completely block out lights at night time.

Beautiful oasis in Punta Uva, the grounds, staff and accommodations were five stars. Gave four stars as the in- house menu could do with improvement, a few small adjustments especially on the vegetarian options would be very welcome. I've never had carrots on pizza before! Lovely stay overall, would recommend.
