Great location for my sons place in Walthamstow? Clean room with comfy bed . All the staff were lovely? Tasty breakfast? We will be back

Can't believe Cosmopolitan claimed to be a 5-star hotel. Very disappointed at the services . Or is it because we didn't booked through the hotel directly and we're treated differently? 1. We have booked 2 rooms and upon checkin, we were assigned 2 rooms very far away from each other - floor 17 and 52 and they're accessed through different elevators. We asked if there's any better option and the staff simply said "no, since we didn't request ahead of time, plus we booked through a third party company". We were disappointed with the staff's response - she didn't even make any effort to look. 2. The phone in the hotel room doesn't work, I couldn't even reach housekeeping or anyone. Body lotion is missing in the bathroom and it's added upon request the next day. 3. On my 2nd day, my room didn't even get cleaned when we returned to the room around 5pm. Contacted the hotel but the response is "perhaps the cleaning crew is behind their schedule since the hotel is fully booked..."

The quirky character of this hotel is part of its charm, but does mean that some rooms are much better than others. As we were making multiple bookings for a family gathering, I went for a single room rather than take up a double that other family members might need. This gamble didn't pay off because my room was tiny and the cramped bathroom (a bath with a shower, but no standing room) complicated preparations for the funeral I was attending. There was just one window in the bedroom, high up and hard to reach, which opened and closed with great difficulty (warped wood?). No window at all in the bathroom. The electric towel rail, which was the only heater in the bathroom, didn't work at all so the hotel kindly supplied a plug-in oil radiator. Obviously it's the luck of the draw, but I was disappointed as I'd imagined serene views etc to relax during a rather depressing and stressful time. The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming, and breakfast was great (in a lovely dining room!).

All bedrooms are listed on our website and shown in detail, or better still phone to speak to a receptionist who would talk you through your requirments. The electrian has visited to repair the towel rail, our apligies that this was ceased working over your stay. Delighted you enjoyed the hospitality of the team and a good breakfast. KR Lucy

The best hotel I have ever visited. Friendly and personal service The staff were all very friendly and helpful and no request for assistance was a problem for them. The hotel is well situated, being close to shopping, transport, and the tourist sites. We would definitely stay there again.

Overall good hotel. Highlight for us was the breakfast.
