I wasn’t expecting much as I had not paid much for the room. I was shocked to discover that the room had no toilet, just a shower and a sink. I was showed the shared bathroom and assured I would be the only person using it, but the second time I went in, I found the toilet seat up, so clearly a man had been using it. The bed was comfortable enough but not a good nights sleep. The pub is very loud downstairs and doesn’t close until midnight. The bedroom door would not lock from the inside, I had to jam the door with a chair and did not feel safe. No option of breakfast and nobody there to check out. Had to exit through the fire escape and post my room key through the letter box! The location is handy for Guisborough town centre but I don’t think I would stay here again.
We came for a Monday lunch and it was outstanding. Our waitress Adriana was so attentive and sweet. She made sure everything was right with our meal brought us what we needed without prompting and made sure we felt comfortable as we were the only people dining at the time. Food was superb and drinks were delicious. Thank you for a great experience we will be back very soon!
Called in here on our way to our hotel for a short stay in The Cotswolds, but got to say it was our worst dining out experience and we dined out several times whilst on holiday in the area. It was certainly the most overpriced for both drinks and food. A large glass of Sauvignon Blanc and a pint of Guinness £19.40. I had crab linguine which was okay but certainly wasn’t worth £22.00. My husband had the Fox beef burger that he said was one of the worst he’d ever eaten at £19.00 which again was one of the most expensive we paid for a burger whilst we were holidaying in the area. Such a shame for what we were hoping was going to be a great start to our holiday. Thankfully this was not typical of all the other lovely pub/restaurants that we dined at in the Cotswolds.
Came here last night, and this lunch time, for meals and drinks, and was never disappointed. The service is impeccable, and the food amazing. My Wife had a burger, and I had the spicy pizza, both of which were delicious, and presented beautifully. The staff go out of their way to serve you well, and are very friendly and professional. Would definitely return if in the area. Thank you to the amazing Chefs, and serving staff.
The friendliest staff in a lovely country pub. The village is delightful with lots of historic buildings and nice shops. I would definitely stay here again as we were made to feel so welcome.
I live a few miles away and so I’m a frequent visitor to The Fox. The food is generally excellent. Some of the staff are really good. On several occasions the service has been utterly hopeless. Last night I waited 29 minutes for a menu to arrive before I went and asked for one. Then a further 14 minutes until my order was taken. Another 22 minutes and the steak and chips arrived. It wasn’t that busy. Gordon Ramsay would be having kittens. Can the owners please get a decent manager in, and give the staff some training?
Phoned to book a table as we were visiting the local area during May half term and wanted to give them notice as there would be thirteen of us visiting. Really nice young chap took my booking and was really helpful. On the day we arrived and practically the whole room to ourselves (apart from one other table)The atmosphere was lovely a good selection of music on in the back ground.Great service by the two young lads didn’t get their names but they were a credit to the business. The food was amazing too really tasty and came out presented well.will definitely visit here again when next in Plush.Thank you for a lovely evening.
Staff were very polite and friendly. Car park was full (had the last place) and the bar was very noisy - a lot of people and it was Friday. The meal was good “pub grub” and the local ale was wonderful - Wye Valley brewery.
