Although it was a busy night and the booking site showed no availability, I called ahead and they managed to squeeze us in for dinner. We shared 3 starters, had the pie and fish & chips for mains and made room for desserts as the previous courses had been so good. Our young waiter was lovely and the chef did an exceptional job so would definitely recommend. Lovely location on the river, beer garden and car parks front and rear.
Stayed at this lovely pub for 2 nights with my friend . Great value for money and lovely food and very very friendly staff . Nothing was too much trouble . . Only slight downside was we seemed to be over the kitchen so constant smell of food wafting into our room and view was of a flat roof . Decided pub stays are the way to go rather than hotels from now on
We had a joint birthday meal with our family. The food was ok, but not great, dry with no coleslaw or condiments. Very dry and very expensive. Then almost 20% was added on at the till, even though we were supposed to have a discount. The door leading to the river was left open, so a very young child could have fallen in and we had to walk to the other end of the building to order drinks, as we couldn’t order them from the table. Would definitely not go again
Hi, we stopped here for dinner on the way back home. The place has a nice feel to it and is clean. The service was good and the food was great. It’s a few minutes from the A40 and is worth a visit.
Very happy to recommend The Fox. The room was clean comfortable and very nicely furnished. The evening meal was very good match by great service from George the waiter. Breakfast was okay. Scarlett was outstanding, welcoming, efficient and friendly. My one issue was the temperature of the room as the accommodations heating hadn't been switched on despite the colder weather. I was offered additional blankets by Scarlet who did her best to help.
Just spent 2 nights at The Fox,lovely place.nice and quiet location .Room nice size coffee etc facility. Had breakfast and dinner there ,both cooked well and tasty. Special of the day for breakfast was kipper. Would have liked a dish to put the bones in ! Lovely helpful and friendly staff.
This is a old inn with quirky squeaky floors, the room was clean, staff very friendly, parking at the rear of the property, on the high street so handy for a little shopping
