Deeply Disappointing Stay — A Milestone Birthday Trip Completely Mishandled We booked this trip specifically to celebrate my mother’s 79th birthday, expecting at the very least decent service and some basic attention to guest requests. Unfortunately, from check-in onward, the experience was frustrating and frankly unacceptable for this level of accommodation. We reserved three rooms and had emailed 2–3 weeks ahead requesting a room with the best possible view since this was a special family celebration. Instead, we were assigned a room with an obstructed view — which made it seem like our request was either ignored or simply not taken seriously at all. The check-in experience only added to the disappointment. The agent appeared disengaged, didn’t really listen, and gave minimal responses to straightforward questions. There was no acknowledgment that this was a milestone birthday trip, no warmth, and certainly no sense of hospitality. I had also emailed beforehand asking for a simple birthday decoration in the room — nothing elaborate, just a small gesture to make the occasion feel special. This was completely overlooked. No explanation, no apology, nothing. Within minutes of arrival, we had already encountered multiple issues, and honestly, I considered checking out immediately. That’s how discouraging the first impression was. For a property that markets itself as a quality accommodation, the lack of attention, poor communication, and indifference toward guests was surprising — and disappointing enough that I would hesitate to return or recommend it, especially for special occasions.
