We chose turtle beach resort with the huge slash & slide, as a place to meet up with several family members, all of us travelling long distances with kids, to attend a wedding. The idea was to give the kids something really fun to reward them after the tedious journey there, & let their wild side out, with maximum fun in the minimum time we had before getting ready for the wedding. But when we arrived, the big splash & slide was closed for renovations. At no point were we, the customers informed of this before booking or at check in. What a let down. We certainly wouldn’t have booked here. Or we would have expected some type of consolation for the let down.
Also the deadlock on our apartment door was not functional, so as soon as the toddlers realised they could open the front door, none of the parents could relax, we had to be on high alert monitoring that door. Also the apartment staircase is very very steep, so definitely also required monitoring & assistance for small children, & anyone carrying a child, or going up or down at night. Sensor lights for the staircase or continuous rail might have helped make that safer.
Otherwise the apartment was lovely, clean. staff were lovely & responsive. They did confidently give us wrong info about the women’s change rooms in the pool areas being suitable to begin getting ready for our wedding. There wasn’t women’s rooms. Just a unisex cubical & an outdoor shower. But they did organise an early check in soon after. Much Appreciated.
