GEOFFS SHED/ PARTRIDGE COTTAGE Misrepresentation : avoid like the plague . We recently stayed in partridge Cottage / Geoffs shed. Partridge Cottage is nothing like the photos on the NSW government website . The kitchen is a complete non starter. Dark and depressing and lacking a dishwasher . Lights need to be left on during to the day time due to the lack of light within the kitchen. From an ergonomic point of view it is potentially dangerous as you have to bend over to open the cupboards as they are at a very low level ( as is the bottom of the fridge ) . Sliding glass doors within the kitchen cabinets don’t work/ there’s very little storage and the kitchen lacks sharp knives/ garlic crush and basic utensils making it almost impossible to self cater . There are no doors within the property leading to the x 2 bedrooms so privacy is lacking. There are just curtains instead of doors ( which also means the air conditioning doesn’t work well ) . Note there is no air conditioning in one of the bedrooms. There is only x 1 toilet and the access is positively dangerous as it is down some cement stairs which I found terrifying in the middle of the night as I have a disability . There was a chair in the bedroom which had x 1 screw only in it so had one of us sat on it it would have collapsed potentially causing serious injury We have stayed at other NSW government holiday homes in Byron like Imeson and Mildenhall next door n these houses are as described but Partidge Cottage and Geoffs shed are not like the photos on the NSW website and are way below par . Partridge cottage is more like a hovel than anything else. We couldn’t wait to leave .
