Late night hassle My family got into Rome late, saw a few sites, and then drove to this hotel, which had been booked six months in advance, arriving at about 2:30am. It appeared to be closed, but there was a night clerk who let us in. Unfortunately, he spoke no English, which while not required, would have made things easier. We did not buy a phone chip and activated the cell sparingly, but his operation was even more old school. For 20 minutes in the middle of the night four exhausted travelers watched him unable to find our reservation. He couldn’t use a computer, ultimately our reservation sheet was found in the date book in the 22nd slot, not the 20th, and they had given away our four person room. Eventually much literal skin scratching and after licked fingers had handled our passports and iPad, the clerk did give us two rooms (my shower and toilet were not completely clean), but the process was unnecessary and the last thing tired people needed. The place had a slightly seedy vibe, so my wife stayed in the second room with our adult kids. The breakfast was ok, the morning clerks were very nice, and the cost was reasonable, but I would not recommend this place unless there are no better options.
