Set in a green and leafy upmarket Hamburg suburb of Heimfeld, this hotel is a pleasant way to escape the fast pace of city life. Although the room lacked little luxuries, e.g. good quality bath products, it was clean, comfortable and quiet. Staff are friendly and the breakfast is of a good quality. What I would expect of a standard 4* hotel. It is though difficult to travel to Lindtner using public transport and therefore not convenient for visiting central Hamburg attractions. I was advised to travel to the hotel from Hamburg Central Station by train to Harburg and to take a taxi from there to the hotel (1.8 miles). Harburg is a run-down area and not very pleasant. On the one night I attended a concert at the Elbphilharmonie, I was left stranded when the evening trains were cancelled and the scheduled replacement bus to Harburg didn’t turn up. German public transport reliability is not what it used to be. A taxi from Hamburg Central Station to the hotel costs €55 ??.
