Looking online for an evening meal in Romsey and came across The Cromwell Arms. Checked the web page menu and fancied the ''Pork, cider & Bramley with creamed potato, peas, jus & crispy onion £16.50.'' When seated and before ordering I asked the waiter how is the pork? ''Juicy he said'' I therefore assumed and asked if it was a thick slice like a medallion. ''Yes'' That's for me so I ordered. What did I get, sausages, and not very nice ones at that. Would estimate the plate would cost £3.25. Tastless robbery. Obviously named after Oliver Cromwell (1649-1660) which was the very active time of ''Highwaymen'' I don't know when The Cromwell Arms was built but it certainly upholds the tradition.
