Hotel is shabby and down at heel. Although there has been some attempt at improving the condition of the rooms, there is a pervasive sense that management do not care. No hot water for the shower on arrival (resolved - boiler was off!), Tired and marked bed linen although mattress felt newish. Breakfast (not purchased) was a joke. Billed as continental it fell far short of that description.
The only positive, whuch raised my rating considerably was the staff member that seemed to be there morning, moon and night, working the bar, reception, and who knows what else. She was always smiling, pleasant, and caring. The only other member of staff, the gentleman that checked me in was the pokar opposite, dressed in track pants and old top with a surly, indifferent manner.
