  • Guest:We had a lovely 2 night weekend break. The hotel is perfectly located, easy 5 minute walk into town. We also used the train station for a little trip out which is on the doorstep. Wonderful views of the beach and great recommendations for restaurants. The breakfast is AMAZING, staff all super friendly, would definitely go back again.
  • Guest:Wonderful boutique hotel. Really close to the beach and train station. Lovely room with unique decor. The breakfast was amazing with so much choice and included in the price. Very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. View was incredible. A bit tricky to find so follow the advice they give about location instructions.
  • Guest:Excellent small hotel near the beach in St Ives. Great welcome and staff couldn’t do enough to help you explore the area and make recommendations for dining etc. Breakfast was very good and freshly cooked to order. We stayed four nights and the hotel didn’t disappoint in anyway. Free parking at the hotel was a welcomed bonus. We had room 12 which was large, very nicely decorated with a large smart TV and great shower room. Perhaps a few more shelves would have enhanced storage but I’m being picky. We stayed over the the food festival weekend and there was an excellent buzz around the area and the weather was fantastic. We hope to return sometime soon and on this occasion would spend the extra for a sea view room. Overall an excellent hotel which we would thoroughly recommend.
  • Guest:Within the last decade, St Ives has become arguably our favourite spot in the UK to enjoy a British break & depending on a number of factors, have ended up booking anything from a Premier Inn to a resort hotel. We don't tend to spend too much time at the hotel, using it primarily as a base but ideally like to stay somewhere that offers a good breakfast & clean, comfortable facilities & something that's becoming increasingly more difficult, does not allow dogs. Having done a little research, Primrose House appeared to offer everything we wanted at JUST the right price and I'm delighted to confirm that during our 6 night stay in late April, this wonderful little hotel offered us everything we hoped for ... and more. In terms of location, if there's one minor negative, it's that Primrose House is in such a wonderful spot it's a difficult approach. That said however, we didn't have an issue following the video provided by the hotel and the approach is a matter of a minute or so off the main road into St Ives. Anyone familiar with pretty much anyplace in Cornwall, if you want to be smack-bang in the middle of the action, it's not going to be the easiest drive but with Primrose House you are steps from the beach, minutes from the centre of town and harbour but tucked away in a peaceful little spot just along the beach from the train station. The hotel has free car parking but if very busy, double parking may be required but we didn't have an issue and utilised the EV charging a couple of nights(I THINK there were two charging ports). The property itself is a tastefully decorated, period building, consisting pretty much of the rooms and breakfast area where you can also grab a good coffee or cake until tea-time but it's delightful & makes for a wonderful start to the day. The breakfast was cooked to order & a big reason why we chose to stay here. My wife commented that we'd easily spend circa £50 had we gone out for breakfast/brunch and ordered what we were having on a daily basis. The hotel is run by the loveliest (and super cool) couple, both are delightful to deal with & employ a small, brilliant team of staff to assist with reception/breakfast duties. Our room was a classed as a "Double Suite with Balcony which I had worked out was Room No 1 & consisted of a large, light room split into dressing area & bedroom with a nicely appointed bathroom and small deck that did back onto the rear of property & road however we hadn't planned on sitting outside & didn't want to spend the additional cost of a sea-view room. The only minor issues I would point out that we stayed for 6 nights and there wasn't a great deal of storage space & there was evidence of a bits of re-decoration here & there but overall, we were very pleased with our room. Our stay at Primrose elevated our most recent trip to St Ives and we would definitely return for future visits.
