Guest：Absolutely the best hotel in Byron Bay! The staff were legends and gave me and my family the best stay we could possibly want. Their spa is absolutely wonderful and the location of the hotel is perfect - just walking distance from everything in Byron. Thank you to the whole team.
Guest：Upon arriving the service was friendly and efficient, and remained so throughout our stay. The rooms are nicely styles, but not functional. There is no wardrobe or drawers, but two lots of sitting spaces. The way the blinds and curtains shut, don't provide complete privacy from walkway along the front. The shower has a large ceiling rain head, but the shower is not much bigger, so you have no way of washing yourself or hair unless immersed under the shower. Definitely not ideal for women. The bathroom isn't effectively lit, so your face is dark and shadowed in the mirror. The do not disturb sign on the door didn't mean anything, as they still came in and cleaned, and through away an item we wanted to keep. The beds and pillows were comfortable though and a great central location. Didn't find it value for money.
Guest：I feel mixed about my review for this hotel. In terms of location it ticks the box, close to everything - beach, shops etc. The fit out is beautiful - cudos to the interior designer. The outside area has been nicely re-done - the pool is a bit meh (due to its location on the side of the property). You need to remember this is an old motel that has been remodelled and has had a modern trendy makeover. If you want to hang your clothes up - there is nowhere - no wardrobe or draws - only a couple of coat hangers on hooks. This means you are forced to live out of your bag - this could be a deterrant if you are coming with a substantial amount of clothes and plan to be there more than 1-2 nights. The vibe is hip and cool - I think anyone over the age of 50 is not the target market - think Palm Springs vibe - the girls on reception certainly seem to think they were it and a bit - hence the feeling of being more than a little judged for not being quite cool enough to be there! Would I recommend - depends on what you are looking for - if you are after great photo opportunities for your insta feed - then look no further!
Guest：Swell is that rare jewel: a subtropical sanctuary yet with vibrant and noisy Byron on its doorstep (I was impressed at how insulated it was). This thoughtful little hotel is luxurious but not pretentious (hard to do well) - I loved the generous room size, the velvet day bed, the cloud like bed/pillows, the thick velvet robes, and yes, keyless room entry (no more fumbling), interesting array of wellness support (watch that space). And then there are the gardens - that curvaceous outdoor seating area with plants tumbling down is such a special place, as is the bar area (more velvet). It is blessed with amazing staff (some seriously good recruitment and leadership to be this good) - genuine, warm, so so helpful, unpretentious, and yes all highly capable (and interesting). I stayed for 10 days - could have easily stayed longer, such a healthy light energy.
