Guest：Going to Porto on holiday - where to stay, the Porto side or the Gaia side? We chose the Gaia side and this hotel was in the Marriott collection of hotels. I wanted my Marriott points and this hotel seemed to check all the boxes by its description and so we chose Hotel Origine. But what a find! It's a "boutique" hotel, so none of the crazed check in madness. The front desk people offered us a seat at their reception area, gave us a glass of port and immediately made us feel welcome. Everyone was astonishingly friendly and helpful. We chose to include our breakfast - another great decision, as it turned out It was a great breakfast and our server Rita couldn't do enough to help us. The knowledgeable Mariana, "guest relations" director, had encyclopedic knowledge of where to go, tours that were available. and smart suggestions for getting around. The rooms were lovely, choice of restaurants were terrific. There was even a choice between the downstairs "champagne only" bar and a regular bar upstairs. The hotel is also wonderfully located - easy walking everywhere. We loved Porto and Gaia. We will definitely be back, and when we do, Hotel Origine will see us again.
Guest：Absolutely a gem! This new hotel is located across from Porto in a quiet and safe area with amazing views of Porto. The hotel is cozy, elegant and offers beautiful and well designed rooms. The incredibly friendly personnel at the hotel make your stay very pleasant. They come every evening to double check and make sure you have everything you need. The rooms are brand new and beautifully decorated with a small fridge and gourmet coffee. We chose a room with a terrace facing the river and it was perfect for sunrise time and the beautiful sunsets. I can’t highly recommend enough this hotel. The location is ideal within an easy walk to restaurants and the bridge.

The property itself is beautiful and in an amazing location, but the staff truly made our anniversary trip. A huge thank you to Mariana in Guest Relations, she is a star! She organized wonderful surprises for our celebration and really went far and beyond, making our anniversary memorable and special. Luis at the restaurant was excellent, super friendly, patient, and professional, helping us with a smile everytime. Lastly, David at Concierge was always professional and one step ahead of our needs. A big thank you as well to the housekeeping team. Our room was impeccable every single day; their attention to detail was impressive and made our stay so comfortable. The hotel is stunning, and the team is exceptional. We definitely recommend staying here!
