Guest user：We came to the Meliá Villaitana for a 4 day golf trip. The golf was great -we played the Levante, an enjoyable course with some (but not too many) challenges. It was the start of the busy golfing season and the tee sheet management seemed a bit haphazard (no starter present for 2 out of our 3 rounds) but easy to organise buggies. Toilets on the course were revolting, the management really need to sort this out. Food and service at the clubhouse after playing were excellent. As for the hotel: this is a lovely resort, beautifully laid out like a village (it will take you a while to find your way around!) it has a great vibe. Lovely restaurants (not all open every night) and entertainment in the main square. The standard room was spacious and clean with a great shower (over a bath with a wide surround to step over to get in, may be an issue for those with limited mobility) and a balcony with a table and chairs. However there is no ability to make a hot drink in the room which is a major deficiency in my view and the only time I’ve stayed in a hotel of this quality without this. Also a well stocked mini bar but no glasses other than tooth mugs to drink from. These small additions would elevate the room from good to great. A word on restaurant opening times. On arrival we were told breakfast in the buffet was served from 0800. This is far too late if playing golf at 0900 as we were. After a call from Reception to the restaurant we were told that cold food is set out from around 0700 so we could go to breakfast then - but the impression given was that we were making a bit of a fuss. Each day on arrival at the restaurant we were stopped at the door and we had to explain that we needed to eat before playing golf. This is a golf resort and we cannot imagine this is not something that has come up before. The management need to sort this out for visitors who need to eat breakfast earlier than 0800. Dinner in the restaurants does not start till 8pm - typical for Spain!- this would I expect not suit some families with small children who typically eat earlier than this. Something to be aware of. All in all we had a lovely few days and would definitely consider returning as we loved the golf course and the general vibe of the resort
Guest user：We love this hotel and have been back many times the new pool area is great for kids however the grass area means it gets muddy by the pool it needs a solution and again for the 3rd year in a row check in is horrific there have been zero efforts to improve so prepare for at least 45-80 mins to check in and with kids that’s not fun people are stressed and unhappy I suggest an advance online checkin process where guests can preload passports and docs etc other resorts mange it . That aside we will be back as we love it
Guest user：I’ve stayed in hotels around the world and this by far is top of my list , yes it’s a Melia hotel but a Melia hotel with a difference , in the hills above Benidorm , a self contained resort with fab restaurants to choose from, it also has history of been an old monestry
Guest user：Very nice hotel to enjoy holidays with the family near Benidorm. Location: 10 minutes from the Benidorm beaches, up in the hills. Great views from the rooms and the hotel of the city and sea. Check-in/check-out: perhaps the lowest point in the hotel. In the Meliá Villaitana there only four desks available, which at peak hours explodes. I spent 15 minutes waiting for check in and 25 minutes on cue for the checkout. There are no Meliá rewards priority desk (yes at Level). Rooms: nice spacious rooms with confortable beds, big bathroom and nice balcony. The pity doesn’t work well (I’ve stayed in two different rooms), and most of the channels and blocked. Some walls need a paint job and the floor needs to be cleaned every day. It seems housekeeping is not equipped with stuff to clean floors. Animation: the best of the hotel, the team of the mini club is amazing. Special thanks to Victor, David and Lucia. Kids really enjoy the activities. Food: we went with full board as the all inclusive is available when booking 6 or 7 nights. It should be available for an extra fee, maybe it is, no one offered it. All the meals where in the buffet with very good selection and quality. Can’t complain really. Special kudos to Alexandra who was so nice in attending us every time. The only thing to complain about is the fact that they are asking our room and names every time, even though we had our bracelets. We’ve been in other Meliá and we never witnessed this, a bit annoying. The restaurant Casa Nostra, which is paid is amazing, great service and great quality food. The Gelateria is algo great, and seems to be free with all inclusive but they never told this. Pools: amazing, lots of space to swing and do activities. Sufficient chairs for everyone in the premises. The kids pool with the slides are great fun. Overall a great stay, with some “American style” customer experience details could get even better.
