Guest：Amazing rolled lamb main dinner, great coffee in the rooms & @ breakfast, fantastic breakfast also.
Guest：We’ve eaten at The Hind’s Head several times, but today’s lunch for me was a great disappointment. I chose the chicken supreme which was described as “Chicken supreme GF 20.00 gremolata crumb, buttered new potatoes, peas, spinach & asparagus, chive crème fra?che sauce”. What arrived was a bowl full of peas, some tiny pieces of diced asparagus, about four leaves of spinach and a piece of chicken, with a side dish of roasted, heavily salted new potatoes. I do not like peas; I had imagined they would make up a small part of the dish, not that they would form the major part and taint everything else. I had to sift through the pea mountain to pick out the small bits of asparagus and spinach. The sauce appeared to be buried by peas so I barely tasted that, though what I did manage to taste was tasty. The chicken was well cooked and succulent. Maybe I should have requested no peas; had I done so, a very meagre bowl would have arrived! Had this been my first visit, I would not return. I’m not too sure that we’ll be back.
Guest：Came here for lunch on Thursday a couple of weeks ago. It wasn't very busy but, the initial good bar service was soon eroded by very poor quality meals. The fish pie was dry and we had to send the fish and chips back. No body came to check if our food was Ok after it was delivered so I had to report it at the bar. The fish batter was undercooked and very soggy but the fish inside was dry - quite an achievement! When first reported nobody at the bar seemed to know what do and after several minutes and having spoken to the head chef, someone came to take it away to offer a replacement or something else. I opted for the fish again, which did come back hot and properly cooked. Given that it's not cheap, the food service and quality seemed to be lacking and it definitely has put us off returning.
Guest：I stay here regularly for work and love it - friendly staff, great rooms and lovely food. Only downside is the cappuccino is now an extra cost at breakfast
