Housed in a Tibetan building in an idyllic farming village of Shangril-la County in Yunnan Province, The birch offers a unique lodging experience for travelers who wish to get in touch with authentic, indigenous culture in a comfortable setting.

The lodge is built in traditional 3-storey Tibetan farmhouse style, the major building materials being stone, wood and mud. Part of its structure is using old wooden beams and panels salvaged from the owner’s old family house, retaining not only the exquisite craftsmanship of wood carvings of several decades old but also a sentimental value that is irreplaceable by the most refined modern materials.

Overlooking extensive barley fields mixed with patches of other vegetations such as cole flowers, turnips and potatoes, the patio of the lodge is a perfect place for guests to savor picturesque views in different seasons.
