Weizhou Island Volcano National Geopark is located 21 nautical miles due south of Beihai city, on the Beihai Gulf of Guangxi province. The island covers a land area of 26.88 ㎞2, which includes the 1.89㎞2 Xieyang Island. It is about 6 kms from north to south and 5 kms from east to west with a population of about 16,000 people. Weizhou Island is oval in shape; and looks like an emerald green bow with an sunken bay in south. The forest coverage is about 35%. Weizhou island has a subtropical monsoon climate, an average annual temperature of 22.6°C and annual average rainfall of about 1380mm,which gives it moderate summers and mild winters.
