Guest：We had an absolutly amazing time at the UmVangati House and it was a perfect start for our journey through South Africa! Such a warm welcoming, fantastic rooms, perfectly clean, delicious food and the view - overwhelming! We could habe spend all day enjoying the calm, watching the landscape and the various animals at the water hole while listening to the birds. And when we had trouble with our car we didn't even have to ask, they immediatly helped us and arranged a switch of our rented car. Thank you so much, you are absolutely lovely!
Guest：This is truly an amazing place to stay. It is more similar to a guesthouse (albeit a very luxurious one) operated by a family. We stayed in the rooms inside of the house. They have 4 inside the house (and 3 grander accommodations outside of the house) and I would recommend that if you are used to bigger beds (as we are) to not go for the queen room. The room itself however is nice and clean. But the best are the people and the food! The food is made with love. It is a joy to observe the cooking in the open kitchen. And the meals: breakfast and dinner are lovely. Even the breakfast box we ordered was put together with care. They go out of their way to accommodate you. We stayed with my parents and when my mom became a bit ill they offered to bring her some toast at night because she could not eat well. We will truly miss this place, would definitely recommend and we will return whenever we will come back here.
Guest：The most unexpected highlight of our SA honeymoon! From the moment we booked, we were made to feel like we were going home for Christmas by the delightful correspondence. Sonia, Lidia, Giel, Jaco & their incredible staff are the most kind, caring, unpretentious & friendly hosts who all clearly enjoys next level hospitality. Driving to the house on the beautiful (& safe!) road we spotted various wildlife. Arriving was a joyous occasion & even the shyest of introverts will feel at ease. While our luggage were taken to our (luxurious, private & spotlessly clean) room with the softest towels & robes ever, we were offered drinks while being absolutely gobsmacked by the most incredible mountain views. Their eye for detail in & around the house is remarkable. The architecture, the art, the furnishings - all outstanding! Breakfast was a 5 star 4 course affair with a view of Rooibok at the watering hole & the peaceful sound of the bushveld. The room was well stocked with beskuit, cookies, milk & other treats. You will never go hungry or thirsty. The extras we had (drinks) were remarkably affordable. Booking dinner is a must! You WILL NOT find better value, food, service or setting anywhere else! Also incredibly unpretentious for 5 star cuisine. “Mushroom starter & Hake with spaghetti” must’ve been a bit tongue in cheek as it was shockingly beautiful! The Blyde River Canyon Cruise next door (10 min drive) also really recommended. A special thank you to Sonia who picked up on a throwaway comment about my grandma’s melkkos, who then surprised us with a bowl on our last day ?? Having private, romantic meals in the most beautiful setting while listening to the hosts & staff joyously preparing food laughing & chattering in the background was a heartwarming treat. Umvangati House was the last stop of our honeymoon from Nkomazi via the Panoramic route. But next time we’re in Jozi our Cape Town we will surely get the direct flight to Hoedspruit to recharge & give thanks in this piece of Heaven ??
Guest：We spent two wonderful days at this hotel in April. A fantastic location in the bush, breathtaking views, and loving hosts who fulfilled our every wish. With a view of the watering hole with zebras, wild boars, monkeys, and more, we enjoyed wonderful breakfasts and dinners. A place to feel good. Highly recommended for anyone who loves nature, animals, peace, and relaxation. If we ever travel to this wonderful country again, this hotel will be our number one choice.
