Guest：We have enjoyed a wonderful 5 night stsy at the Hotel Sportsman. It is situated in a beautiful and quiet part of the lake just along the path where you can walk to Bardolino or Garda.(approx 20/25 mins walk). We took advantage of the bike hire most days which was fabulous. We also enjoyed the use of the paddle board and kayak although I felt there should have been more available as there was only one of each which isn't really suitable in high season with lots of families wanting to use them. Also it meant I couldn't go out with my son on the lake. The staff were all amazing, happy to help with bus tickets, tips on travel etc. They were always pleasant and courteous. The breakfast was extensive with a wide range of food and drink available. We didn't use the restaurant though. We loved that the hotel was directly on the bus route which was extremely useful. Also the local beach bars were handy for lunch and takeaway pizzas! The only downside was the lack of a balcony or outdoor space and only a few rooms seem to have them. But won't be our last visit to lake garda or hotel sportsman. A thoroughly enjoyable, calming and peaceful stay.
Guest：Very good attentive staff. Hotel rooms were "ok". Bathroom set up for more elderly guests which was not great. Decor is very dated and could do with a complete renovation. Location is superb though. Right on the lake and a 20 minute walk to either Garda or Bardolino for a massive choice of restaurants. Food in the hotel not great. On a rainy night we decided to try their "Special Dinner" A total rip off at 45 euros a head for a buffet which was average at best. Dessert was a choice of one..."special cake". Breakfast was just ok but no variation on a day to day basis so got a bit boring after a two week stay.
