Guest：We spent New Year’s Eve here for a meal for 9 of us. 2 couples were staying the night in the hotel. From the start the staff were fantastic two of the party were limited disability but no issues at all. Food was good pipping hot with a good selection. Staff very attentive and good fun. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. Family said it was excellent value for money well done Mathew and the team will definitely be back for a meal
Guest：When we arrived the hotel was open but no staff around. 1pm on a Saturday, bar locked and phoned the reception to alert attention but nobody appeared. Had to leave for an event and finally got someone on the phone at 3pm who said the hotel shuts between 12-3pm (door was wide open? Fire safety etc?) they said they’d leave the side door of the hotel open as we wouldn’t arrive back until midnight to get our room keys and the hotel is unmanned overnight. The side door was NOT left open and lucky another guest arrived back at the same time to let us in. We would have slept in cars otherwise. Find it really strange a hotel can be left unstaffed. The one staff member we met at breakfast was very pleasant but I’d say for nearly ￡200 for one night this was pretty poor service. The room was beautiful but is needing a bit of updating in the bathroom and things. The grounds looked lovely but it was raining so we didn’t venture too much.
Guest：What a lovely hotel, not far from town but far enough to serve as an escape. I was here for two nights on business, and cannot complain in the slightest. Amarone Thistle Restaurant was delightful with amazing portion sizes, and breakfast was lovely too. My company had booked me into Room 10 - wow! The staff are a real asset, especially the lady working breakfast, and the young lady who has started in the hotel working in the restaurant for dinner this week. Credits to Mansfield House! My only suggestion would be to invest in blackout blinds as it can get very bright very early during the summer months - otherwise an easy 10/10!
