  • Guest:2 night midweek spa break. Easy to find, lots of parking spaces. Easy check in. Room looked clean on surface but was very dusty. Thankfully I carry antibacterial wipes everywhere. Had to give the phone a good wipe before rining down to reception. 2 bottles of water in the room which was good. Teas coffee, hot choclate sachet and biscuits. Ample space for the 2 nights. Very dusty behind bed head and some small cobwebs on ceiling. No slippers or robes provided in room - strange for a spa hotel. You can get robes from the spa but you have to pay £8 for flip-flops. 2 ladies at spa reception always seemed in a hurry and a little bit short with their replies. Used the sauna and steam room on 2 days and the jacuzzi on 1 day. Didn't use pool. Spa was too crowded on both my late afternoon visits and on the second day there were no loungers available. I know people from outside hotel use both gym and spa but maybe there needs to be a capacity limit. Queueing for a sauna does not bode well for relaxing spa break. Still it's a nice hotel and spa. Gym was very quiet on the morning I used it and has good equipment. Had 3 course meal included both nights. Menu was limited in my opinion and lots of the dishes had supplements. Enjoyed the goats cheese salad which I had for starter both nights and the fish main. Had duck second night which I wasn't as keen on but the potato accompanying it was lovely. Chocolate Fondant dessert was worth the price uplift as very delicious. Good breakfast spread although there is a charge for hot chocolate which I felt was a little mean and should have been included. Also toast was cold on both mornings despite asking if I could have hot toast the second day. Checkout was 11am with no option for late check out I was told when asked which was fine. Grounds are small but nice to walk around. It was drizzly and damp on my visit but would be lovely during summer I imagine.
  • Guest:The staff were amazing at every point!!! We had a problem on the 1st evening for dinner. Starter and main were Luke warm when they were supposed to be hot. I complained about the starter and got it heated up, but didn't about the main but wasnt asked why hadn't eaten it. Spa area is nice although the pools cold. Treatment was amazing. The room was cold and very tired. The ensuite was filthy. I think you need some limescale remover!!
  • Guest:We had our wedding here and honestly couldn’t have asked for a more perfect venue. The venue itself is lovely, and we were married in the Garden Suite which was absolutely beautiful and ideal for our intimate wedding. A huge thank you to Sasha, the wedding and events manager, who was incredible from start to finish. She organised everything perfectly and made the whole process completely stress-free. She truly went above and beyond and was amazing the whole way through. The food deserves a special mention – it was absolutely beautiful. The food on our wedding day was amazing and so many of our guests commented on how good it was. We have also stayed here previously and eaten in the restaurant, and the food then was just as incredible. The quality, presentation, and flavour were outstanding. We stayed in the Attic Suite, which is a stunning room with an amazing, spacious bathroom. Our guests stayed in various other rooms throughout the hotel and every single one was perfect. All of the staff were fantastic – so friendly, helpful, and always on hand whenever we needed anything. Even though we had a small, intimate wedding, we felt so well looked after and truly special. The grounds are beautiful and added so much to our day. We can’t wait to return again, especially for a spa day in the future. We couldn’t recommend this venue highly enough for a wedding.
  • Guest:We recently stayed here as a couple and overall had a very lovely stay, with some small points that slightly tainted the end of what was otherwise a great experience. From the moment we arrived, the check-in staff were absolutely fantastic, as were all staff throughout our stay. Everyone was extremely polite, welcoming, and attentive. The check-in process itself was very smooth and easy, which immediately set a positive tone. Our room was lovely, very clean, and well presented, and we were able to access the spa straight away, which was great. The spa experience was mixed. When we went down around 3:30pm, it was extremely busy, with no loungers or beds available, which made it hard to fully relax at that time. It did calm down later in the evening around 5–6pm, and once it did, it was much more enjoyable. The pool was clean and well maintained, and the pool area itself was very nice. Unfortunately, the main sauna was broken, although there was a clear sign explaining that maintenance had been called, which we appreciate — these things happen and it’s not really the hotel’s fault. There was an alternative sauna available in the relaxation rooms, which was still nice. Overall, it felt busy but still relaxing, and if the main sauna had been operational, the facilities would have been very good. The spa staff were absolutely lovely. My partner had her treatment with Kerri, who was fantastic. We were both very happy with the experience and the professionalism of the therapists. One disappointment was that flip flops were not included with the robes, which many hotels do provide. We later found out that we had been charged £18 for two pairs of flip flops, which wasn’t made clear at the time and came as a surprise at checkout. This could definitely be communicated better. Dinner was a real highlight of the stay. The food was absolutely fantastic, easily 10/10, and came out very quickly. Every member of staff in the restaurant was polite, attentive, and professional. The food quality was great. One small note is that some menu items carried a supplement charge. While this is stated on the menu, it would have been nice if the waiter had mentioned it when ordering. Breakfast the following morning was a slight step down from dinner. The continental selection was fairly limited. The full English breakfast was nice overall, although the scrambled eggs looked like they had been scraped from the bottom of the pan. That said, everything was hot, clean, and well presented, and once again the breakfast staff were lovely. At checkout, we were hit with a larger bill than expected. While these were all charges we technically incurred, several of them — particularly the flip flops and some food supplements — weren’t explicitly explained at the time, which made it feel a bit like the costs had been sprung on us.
