From humble beginnings as a medieval monastery- this private island on the river Thames became an aristocratic retreat - reinvented today as a boutique hotel. The rooms- suites and guest cottages evoke the individual style of the eighteenth century villa- while remaining comfortable and contemporary. This theme continues within the main buildings- where a Grade 1-listed room featuring quirky frescoes from the 1730s has been transformed into a snug lounge and whisky bar. Monkey Island Estate is a Small Luxury Hotels of the World property. A discretionary Service Charge of 5% of room rate will be applied to all reservations.

  • Guest：We asked for a baby crib and the hotel kindly set one up. However it was not steady from one side and the mattress only fit 3/4th of it. I wasn’t expecting this at the price point we paid. It was replaced with a cot that was steady and the mattress fit that after we called
  • Guest：Romantic but road noise. Lovely hotel. Shame about the noise of the motorway next to it. For the price you would expect it to be quiter. Noise ok if you had a party there. Lovely location for a wedding.
