Guest：I have come to Hemingways almost every year for the last six years. The experience has always been great except this time. First, the hotel now requires guests to sign a blanket waiver of all of their rights. The document states that the hotel would accept no liability, regardless of how that liability arose, including negligence. In reality though, certain rights cannot be signed away by a hotel guest, even voluntarily. These include non-discrimination, safety and privacy rights, and the right to hold the hotel accountable for egregious misconduct. Hotels also operate under the assumption of protection of public consumer rights. Secondly, there was an issue with the air conditioning in the apartment. I called the reception for someone to come and check it and two hours later, nobody had come. I had to send someone physically to the reception to enquire when the maintenance person would come. Eventually, someone came. After checking the air conditioning pad he told me that there’s nothing wrong with the Aircon and that I should wait for another two hours to see if the temperature dropped. In fact, he said according to him, ‘the room was cool, but perhaps I prefer my room cooler’. I had set the Aircon at 16° and after three hours, the temperature could not have been lower than 22°. This is in the hot Watamu weather. Later that evening I was told that someone had refilled the gas. The air conditioning did not function any better. As at the time of this review, 20 hours later, nothing had changed. Third, calls to the reception go unanswered.
Guest：I even don know where to start, the experience was heavenly. Unfortunately we did not manage to stay at Hemingways Watamu but experienced Dinner and Breakfast. The service and Quality of Food was excellent, everything was on point thanks to Chef Knight, Chef Rose and Chef Benjamin whom we managed to Interact with not forgetting Julius the Restaurant manager. After the Breakfast and a warm sun kissing, with the help of Erastus, he managed to organize an afternoon Boat riding that we enjoyed the magical Snorkeling. The views from the clear water was magical, breath taking and relieving. Thanks to Festus and Simon who were our captain and guide and had lots of patience with us, especially my wife who fears lots of water. With such an experience and hospitality which Hemingways is known for, I will be tagging our other family friend to come for a family vacation soon and looking forward for another magical experience, Dhow Sunset and more. Thanks to the Hemingways Fraternity for the experience and magical moments.
Guest：My husband and I stayed at Hemingways Watamu for the first nights of our honeymoon. Our suite was so comfortable and clean with breathtaking views. The staff are so friendly and accommodating to every request. The food was so good especially the Lebanese restaurant. Thanks to all the staff for being so delightful, a great introduction to Kenya!

The rooms are spotlessly clean, well-maintained, and very comfortable, adding to the overall excellent experience.
