  • Guest:I went to Orchardleigh House for my daughter’s wedding, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. From the beautiful setting to the friendly, helpful staff, the venue was absolutely perfect! The wedding itself was held in an enclosed outdoor area with beautiful views as the backdrop, with the reception indoors. Everything ran seamlessly, with guests enjoying the sun, views, and photographs between the ceremony and reception. Once inside, we were treated to a wonderful meal followed by a disco. Hats off to Suzi, the wedding planner, and staff for their hard work in making sure the day was as magical as any dad would wish for his much-loved daughter. My wife and I had the largest bedroom, and boy, was it large! Unlike many such venues where the old rooms look a bit tired and in need of love, the room was perfectly decorated and opulent, and despite pre-wedding excitement, we both slept well. There were tea and coffee facilities and toiletries provided. In easy walking distance was the golf club, where we ate the night before the wedding. It’s a lovely, relaxing space with indoor and outdoor seating and a nice range of drinks. As for negatives, I’m struggling to find any! The location is remote and pretty inaccessible without a car, and being an older building, accessibility can be an issue for those with particular needs. That said, there were several in our party with such needs, and they were able to enjoy the day along with everyone else. In summary, if you are a couple looking for a wedding venue, or a tourist seeking a character stay, Orchardleigh House is perfect!
  • Guest:We attended a wedding in July. Let me say that the grounds are beautiful, as are the venues within the grounds. It's very peaceful and not far from Froome. However, if you're planning on staying more than a night at the hotel, it's not great value for money. The room we had wasn't all that clean (dust accumulation, walls dirty). The wallpaper on the roof was also peeling. And the staff...mostly young and most of them disinterested, barring a taller chap who was nice and responsive. A middle-aged gentleman at check in didn't have many people skills, either. The younger ones were on their phones. I called before arrival to see if fans were available (it was around 30 celsius on arrival) and was told that yes, there were fans (note: No AC in the rooms). We got to the room, and there were no fans anywhere. Furthermore, not even a temperature dial. I went downstairs to ask for a fan and a young employee said it would be brought up. You can guess what happened. Nothing was brought up. I went down an hour later and asked the same person if a fan was coming. She said that there was no guarantee of getting a fan because others asked, too (despite them saying beforehand fans were available). I then asked if I would be getting a fan or night. She consulted another employee, who miraculously got a fan within 1 minute and which I carried up to the room myself. (No lifts, which wasn't a problem for me but might be for some). The rooms and hotel component are clearly an afterthought.
  • Guest:We have recently renewed our wedding vows at the amazing Orchardleigh House. The venue is fabulous but made all more special by Annamarie and her team. Nothing was too much trouble and I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Highly recommend.
  • Guest:I just wanted to say what an amazing experience we had with the team at Orchardleigh for our wedding this month! From the initial walk around with Chris and the open day last year, we fell in love with the venue! We had to book the date there and then on the spot! And we are so glad we did! We recieved plenty of information to arm ourselves with knowdlege to get planning ahead of time, and then once we got to speak to our Wedding Coordinator Rachel everything came together perfectly! The team were available to answer all our questions whenever we had any, and right up until the day before the wedding Rachel was fantastic in helping us! On the Day, Mervin was fantastic taking care of the small details to ensure everything ran smoothly! It could not have gone any better! And the food produced by Carl and his team was amazing. And we cannot forget to thank all the service team. All our guests commented on how friendly and attentive everyone was. Right up until the last guest left, the bar staff were all smiles friendly. Overall, a Perfect Wedding Day - The Perfect Wedding Venue - The Perfect Team. We cannot recommend Elmhay Park at Orchardleigh enough! Thank You! Helen & Pete
