  • Guest：The location was perfect for the Christmas light switch on weekend, and the firework display is right in front of the hotel. It situated right next to the town centre so it is quiet but close enough so you nip into town when you want. The hosts are welcoming and always want to make the stay as good as it can be. The rooms are sizeable with plenty of seating and the hotel price is competitive with surrounding accommodations we’ve been to
  • Guest：Three of us stayed at Brathay Lodge for 2 nights from 14/11/25. This was our fourth time in the last few years, and we all highly recommend it. We’ve stayed in a different room each time, all clean, bright and comfortable with great shower facilities. There’s no hot breakfast, but there’s plenty of choice of cereal and continental breakfast, breads, pastries, plus hardboiled eggs. It’s very handy for the main bus stop and for setting off across the park over the crag opposite (though, to be fair, no where’s that far from anywhere in Ambleside). We find it really good value, and the owner’s and staff are all lovely too.

  • Guest：We've been coming to Brathay Lodge for a number of years when visiting the Lakes. Always a warm welcome here. Accommodation is lovely, huge comfy bed and refurbished bathrooms are great. Best shower ever! Plentiful breakfast of cereals, fresh fruit, bread and pastries, cold meats and cheese. Super location overlooking the putting green and the beautiful church. Wouldn't stay anywhere else.
