  • Guest：We have just returned from our third visit to Riu Karamboa. It's spotlessly clean, food is excellent, drinks although not branded, were absolutely fine. Cocktails aren't the best but I can live with that lol. The staff everywhere in the hotel seem so happy and cheerful to be doing their jobs. I've never came across one that hasn't been happy. There's entertainment all day long from water aerobics,step aerobics,dance lessons, pool volleyball, water polo darts,bocha and volleyball on the beach and probably some more that I've missed. The entertainment staff have so much energy, they just never seem to tire. We were in room 3127 on the top floor above swim up suites and it was perfect. Good location for lobby bar and pool and a nice wee walk to the main restaurant. We had absolutely beautiful weather from 26th January right through till we left on the 5th of February. It was between 26 and 28 degrees every day. We went to Kuzumi Asian restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We couldnt get booked into Kulinarium but the food in the buffet restaurant was so good that we didn't mind. We visited both Perola d'chaves and Morabeza beach bars again and had some lovely cocktails and beautiful food Both are reasonably priced and I would recommend them both. Hubby's on his phone right now looking to book yet again for November. We absolutely love it.
  • Guest：Genuine 5 star. Close to the airport but no noise. Only saw 1 plane but that was out at sea and couldn’t hear it. Very nice area.
  • Guest：4 couples went , we arrived 2 days after our friends, 30th Dec till the 5th Jan 2026. Unfortunately on the 4th my husband became unwell. He wasn't sure if he could get on the aeroplane. He got worse over the following days. 10 days in total. Upon arrival home, we found out 2 others had become ill. They had a severe stomach bug. Although the hotel has hand sanitizer machines outside the main restaurant on the day of my husbands stomach bug, there was a member of staff with a handheld sanitizer, outside the restaurant, waiting to give everyone some. I've never seen my husband so poorly. Although my husband was struck down with this, the hotel looked very clean, there was always staff cleaning and tidying around. The staff were very friendly, attentive and welcoming, we didn't meet anyone that wasn't. The only thing we were disappointed with was the music at the neon party. As most guest were of the 80's era and the neon stage. We were really looking forward to some 80's, but for us the music wasn't great. So maybe do a mix , most people love the 80's. All staff worked hard, well done on your staff. Stunning hotel and surroundings.
  • Guest：Stunning Reception. No queue for online check in. Great I thought. No greeting from receptionist just ‘ passport’ Not even the offer of someone to take my luggage and show me my room. The receptionist showed me on the map! Very poor service . Then she failed to give me a wrist band Nice room. Nice decoration. There are some English channels if needed. Door on shower. The new trend is open plan No slippers or gowns Tiny balcony facing north no sun whatsoever Everywhere clean lots of sanitation stations Plenty of sunbeds round pool and on beach Negatives ( apart from those mentioned) food is repetitive but always something to eat. Time wisely or you will end up wandering around the main restaurant looking for a table. Only once did a pregnant waitress find us a table Speciality restaurants have sittings! 6.30 or 9.00 (ish) too early and too late. Cocktails are not the best. No nibbles provided. Usually olives and nuts are available at a 5 star Rui. I am a RIU club member and there are much better hotels in Mexico and Morocco where service is good and cocktails excellent with premium brands.? Would I come again? Probably not Personally I would go the extra few hours to Mexico for some winter sun.
