  • Guest:We have just returned from a great family holiday in Tignes le Lac. We have stayed in CGH Residences over the years and always had positive experiences but this was our first time to Tignes and le Telemark and it did not disappoint. The residence is well situated in a quiet area but very near the town centre.Only cross a little road and we could ski down a path onto an easy piste leading to the lifts. Most convenient. Our room was on the 3rd floor with amazing views of the mountains, as I had requested. Apartments are spacious and nicely decorated with very comfortable beds ensuring a sound night's sleep. The leisure facilities are all first class and very welcome and enjoyable after a day on the slopes. We used the pool, hot tubs, sauna and steam every night. Everything was spotless and perfect for relaxing and soothing tired muscles. The air drying system for the ski boots was most effective resulting in comfortable dry boots each day. We cannot praise the staff enough. Everyone at le Telemark went out of their way to make our stay there so very special. They are an amazing ,helpful and friendly team and a special mention to Daniela for her help during the week. Bread and pastries can be ordered the night before and they were delivered to our door each morning. What a service! We would highly recommend this residence and the resort of Tignes and would love to return. Merci a vous A bientot!
  • Guest:As the title says this was probably the best ski accommodation I've ever stayed in. For context, I've been skiing around eight times, mostly in the French or Austrian alps. As a summary of our group, we were a group of 7 (in one apartment), in our mid- to late-twenties and self catered (I am unsure if there is any other option of re food at Le Telemark). Positives: - The apartment was big enough for the 7 of us. One person slept on a sofa bed and was more than happy with the comfort. - The place was generally tidy and clean when we arrived, although it could probably have done with a better sweep of the floors. - Plenty of storage for clothes etc. - Showers were hot and the option of a bath was nice. - Kitchenette worked well for group meals like pasta. There isn't a full size oven which can limit your cooking options as a big group but this really wasn't a problem for us. The dishwasher was also much appreciated. - Ski in/ski out. Although it is worth noting the ski in/out isn't the easiest for beginners. By the end of the week we were fine, but novices might have a short walk to the nearest slope when they are starting out. - The swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. These were all brilliant additions to the holiday. If you are wondering whether men will need to go and buy some speedos to use the facilities (as per French law), some people had speedos and some people had relatively small/baggier shorts and there weren't any people being thrown out. Two of the other guests didn't have any clothes on at all for the sauna and steam rooms, which seemed brave considering the facilities are unisex. Then again, if you've got it, flaunt it. - Cheese and meat person. Once a week there is a person who comes to the hotel lobby with cheese, meat and other food stuffs for sale. While it isn't the bargain of the century, the food we bought was rather tasty. - The staff were friendly and helpful. As an example, we had a problem with the bathtub not draining properly and someone came to fix it promptly. Negatives: - A dust pan and brush in the room would have been ideal. A combination of plenty of people and an outdoor-based holiday mean the floors got dirty fast. There was a mop and bucket which we used on the last day though. - Fan noise. Apparently many French buildings in the alps have a central ventilation system that is there to help remove moisture from the building. We believe that this system was the cause of a noise in the apartment that was often present at night. It sounded almost like a dishwasher running and for light sleepers I imagine this would be a problem. That said, we have no idea if this was actually the cause of the noise and we could have, in theory, been right next to the room where the fans are meaning that other rooms aren't as effected. As a group we aren't light sleepers so it wasn't enough of a problem for us to complain/ask to move. - The jacuzzis could have done with being a couple of degrees warmer. This really isn
  • Guest:We booked directed with GCH and hired skis from intersport nearby. We ski most years sometimes twice and have mainly stayed in France, preferring the flexibility of ski apartments. Telemark earns its 4* but isn't a 'luxury' hotel. It's a ski apartment complex. Positives Reasonable value for money - one of the better ski apartments we have stayed at Good Location with most facilities within 5-10 min short walk Excellent access to slope ski in / out via blue run at two points, 150m to Chaudanes chair lift We had an 8 birth duplex on the top floor for 4 people over 3 rooms; Very spacious Fresh pastries available to order Within 3 mins walk of La Ferme des Trois Capucines Restaurant 5 mins walk to intersport ski hire and SPAR shop Tignes link bus stop (free link bus service) nearby, 3-5 mins walk Free Wifi Small welcome pack with detergent, bin bags etc. Negatives Accommodation getting tired. There is insufficient space for persons 7/8 to store luggage if sleeping in lounge Reception forgot to order lift passes as ordered - not a big issue but a little frustrating Reception closes at 8pm 6 out of 7 days We were unable to contact anyone from the hotel or CGH residences afterhours when an issue needed resolving Unable to connect Room TV to devices eg for Netflix etc Boot room is too small (and way too hot) for number of users (noting previous reviewers have said the boot room was too cold!!) Front facing rooms experienced early morning noise most days (ice scraping of cars/snow clearing machinery ) General Maintenance required - sink & bath and show drainage not working properly; too long to drain. Upper bathroom sink water took 3 mins+ to warm by which time sink full. Upper bathroom water pressure inadequate Bathroom & toilet extractors either silent or not working No sink in toilet Clean the property on departure
