  • Guest：We are so lucky to live on a planet that has a New Zealand. We are so lucky to have the South Island of New Zealand. We are so lucky to have the Maruia River Resort nestled into a shoulder of that southern island. If you are here at this place you are lucky to have found it. And this is where the luck will end. If you are here you are in the arms of the Resort staff and Mother Nature and they will surround you, care for you and bring a careful, cozy plan to your day. There is too much food but it is all wonderful and even exquisite if you want to feel healthy. The yoga studio at the Resort is the kind of scared place I want to worship in. The yoga I experienced here brought a ‘primitive’ magic and awareness into my life and I will look to get more of that in the future. This is a very special place … it is a space that will help you evolve!
  • Guest：The Retreat is a perfect local (within a couple of hours for us) getaway. Cristina and her wonderful support make you feel right at home. Having a special anniversary, they made us feel extra cared for ~ from a sweet note in our room to an private dinner table. The meals were delicious, but waaay to much food! Luckily, there are beautiful walking trails and yoga classes to balance it all out. Thank you to all for making out trip away perfect.
  • Guest：Excellent 3 night stay. A great place to relax My wife and I were not sure what to expect, but it turned out to be a very relaxing and enjoyable time at the resort. Which is a bit of an understatement really. Food and service were A+. It’s hard to explain how good the food was for breakfast and dinner. Lasse and Cristina were great hosts. The facilities were excellent. Our room was spacious and clean nestled in amongst the trees. Private time Forest bathing with sauna and a Hot Tub was another highlight. We had an amazing massage set up when we arrived. Also got to have a very unique yoga class held by Cristina. There were a small group of people staying at the resort (4 total) and we got to know each other during that time, We also had an interesting forest tour from Lasse. Cannot recommend it highly enough if you are in New Zealand and looking for a relaxing break.
  • Guest：Such an amazing stay! The team are impossibly helpful, kind, and wonderful to chat with and the location is unforgettable. The holistic feeling you get is one of being transported out of the real world, to somewhere more profound and thoughtful about the world around us. Loved it.
