The dining room was beautiful and the food was excellent. The rooms were very nice- very Downton Abby feel without the stuffiness. The best part was running around with the Irish wolfhound around the grounds!

The grounds are also magnificent with sensitive landscaping and beautiful outdoor spaces. The setting of Markree is also wonderful and we were well situated to explore the beautiful coastline of Sligo. Many thanks to Alex for her great tips and welcoming service. Indeed the whole team at Markree were wonderful. We were very impressed with the standard of our accommodation in The Potting Shed which provides a really luxurious and generous space to relax and feel at home. The evening meal was exceptional, with a varied menu and everything we ordered being excellent. Breakfast was also fantastic!
