  • Guest：We stayed from May 27-31. We booked through American Express Fine Hotels and Resorts. Fantastic hotel in the heart of Florence, literally 30 steps from the center of the city in the Republic Piazza. The area is filled on all sides with shops and amazing food. The hotel breakfast was included and permitted both a la carte items (try the scrambled eggs with ham and cheese) and the buffet. While not a huge selection, the service was impeccable and I never felt like we were shorted. As part of our package we we’re upgraded from the deluxe grand room to a Jr. suite. For Italian standards, the room was huge. The double sinks and huge bathroom including both a bathtub and walk-in shower were a delight. The walk in closet was nearly as big. The bed was very comfortable! Housekeeping was immaculate! Now to the service. From the door staff to the front desk staff to the housekeeping staff, all were spectacular. But the staff at Irene (in-house restaurant) really made the trip special. We spent every morning with them and they seem to take a personal responsibility of making every day start better! We were me with wine in the room. And biscottis and chocolate were delivered. Everything was top notch. It is expensive. But absolutely worth the price!! Thank you to every single person we encountered. We will be back and we wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else!!
