  • Guest:Excellent hotel with great character. Stayed for a week and overall it was a very good experience. My room was superb with a lovely balcony overlooking the beautiful gardens and down to the sea. Everything you needed was in the room, kettle, fridge and an adequate bathroom, although it would be nice to have a proper shower rather than a hose over the bath. The restaurant had excellent food. Nice well equipped little gym, comfortable public areas and was clearly well managed as all the staff were very well trained and super helpful. The whole place was very clean and well maintained, room servicing was very thorough with great attention to detail. The hotel has a very nice atmosphere and after a week felt like home. The only very small area of future improvement would be the inside bar area. It is furnished with cheap looking tables and 1980’s style hard uncomfortably plywood chairs. However the out side bar areas are very comfortably furnished, unfortunately when I was there, February, it was a bit too cold to use them. Overall I will be back.

  • Guest:Our experience of Parador Hotels lead us to book the La Palma venue. Sadly, whilst the staff were as accommodating and friendly as previous Parador experiences, the actual hotel is lacking in maintenance and upkeep - peeling paint and varnish to all external woodwork, balcony decking worn, warped and deteriorated posing safety issues, bathrooms in need of a complete reform, broken tiles around bath, rusty shower fitments etc. On a positive, the food quality and service was good and the hotel location is stunning.
  • Guest:We have just returned from a stay ar the Parador. We had a lovely time at this hotel. Much has been said in reviews about the grounds and the facilities at the hotel. We were impressed as soon as we arrived with the smart reception and lovely courtyard. The hotel felt inviting and warm and spotlessly clean. Our room was very comfortable with a very clean (rooms well cleaned every day) and well equipped bathroom - with bath and shower. Water was nice and hot and taps ran hot very quickly. Beds were comfortable. Our room had a great view over part of the grounds and the sea - saw several beautiful sunrises!! Breakfast was excellent - huge choice of cold foods and a menu for hot cooked food too. We used the restaurant on a couple of occasions and had two lovely meals. Again, nice views over the grounds and the sea beyond. The staff were so helpful, warm and friendly - a very big thank you to all of them for looking after us so well and for making us feel so welcome. Just a few recommendations - the hotel had WiFi which we used but signal strength was rather variable around the hotel - maybe boosters would help. Restaurant menu was varied but not changed during our stay. This was not really an issue for us but might have been significant for full board stays - or people visiting the restaurant several times on a longer holiday. The hotel was very peaceful which was important to us - it contributed much to a relaxing stay. There were a couple of occasions where people arrived late in the night and were making a lot of noise in the corridor and in their room. That's down to the selfishness of the people not the fault of the hotel. Having said that a suggestion could be made - when guests arrive late that people (some elderly and children) will be asleep and to therefore move quietly so as not to disturb. Great stay - good value for money - can highly recommend.
