  • Guest:We went to Filitheyo at the middle to the end of May. The staff were friendly, our waiter Abdulla was the perfect blend of friendly, helpful yet not over the top. The bar staff were again the perfect blend of helpful yet not intrusive. We stayed in an over water villa. And although the rooms were tired they were scrupulously clean, the bed not very comfortable although they did add a mattress topper for us, which helped. Food was amazing so much choice I had sushi nearly every day! The reef is good but currents were very strong but I’m thinking it was the time of year we went. This was our 16th visit to the Maldives and the gardens were the best we have ever seen. We felt at home instantly upon our arrival. What a gem of an island.
  • Guest:Been on the island three days now, island is lovely with a great house reef, made even better as we have access from our water villa ,food is excellent at both the main restaurant and sunset bar and staff are extremely friendly and helpful, only couple of downsides so far are having to pay for WiFi ?? Seems questionable given the price paid to get here and also having to pay for the pool table? Again seems penny pinching given the amount people pay to come to the island.no entertainment on an evening which is fine however a tv showing news, live sports etc would help in the bars
  • Guest:I have been to the Maldives 6 times already. I was there 4 weeks ago with my husband and kids and because I felt so overwhelmed with joy in this happy place I decided to come back with my dad 4 weeks later. Upon researching islands I stumbled across Filitheyo island resort and liked the fact that it is in an Atoll I had not been to before and because it is so secluded and therefore decided to book. Having spent a couple of days here I can only share my sheer admiration for this gem of an island. The beaches are serene and the housereef is stunning. It only 2 took me two snorkeling attemps to tick off one huge chunk in my bucket list: swimming with a turtle! The reef next to exit 4 is amazing and one can see nursesharks, a variety of fish and we even came across a muray eel. The food is varied and very tasty and I have especially appreciated the green salad and the crunchy, juicy tomatoes. The staff is lovely as well (for example, we were greeted with a complimentary massage upon arrival or just today while I was chilling on my sunbed I was offered a free coconut they had just retrieved from a palm tree - in the resort 4 weeks ago you had to pay 10 dollars for this - but here in Folitheyo luxury is spelled differently). If you are looking for some peace and quiet whilst endulging in the pristine underwater wildlife, unspoiled nature and lush gardens, this barefoot island is for you! I am looking forward to to spending another 11 days here and can only warmly recommend Filitheyo.
  • Guest:We have just arrived back from a great 10 night holiday at the Filitheyo Island after celebrating my 60th Birthday there It was a 45min Seaplane transfer followed by a 10 min boat ride to get to the Island We were blessed to stay in Water Villa #38, the view looking out from our Villa was amazing, all to see was a desert island which made us feel we were in paradise, which it was :) The Water Villa was very big, large 4 poster bed (mosquito net) mini bar (topped up daily with soft drinks on AI basis) , open air shower, outside there are 2 seats, table, hammock and 2 sunbeds, nothing else to wish for The Island was just what we wished for, rustic, traditional & compact so much so that you could walk round it all be it but the last part was through the Staff living area !! You are allocated a table & a waiter for your stay, David was our waiter who looked after us, drinks always ready on our table, a nice touch All meals were buffet style, served in the Main Restaurant, breakfast was the same choice every day but lunch & dinner were very varied & only 2 dishes were repeated within our 10 day stay, always plenty of choice, soups were very good, homemade bread was always on offer, food of all types & taste were available has they had National Food days, but what we found that the Maldivian dishes were always fairly spicy (Chiles on the description indicated how hot they were), homemade Nan Bread & Poppadom's were fantastic Snorkelling from our Water Villa was good but hampered by winds during our stay, I believe the best reef snorkelling area was to be found around Villas # 50 to 80 We went on a competently morning fishing trip, I managed to catch a small Red Snapper but failed to reel in 7 big fish, just my luck !! Our room was cleaned twice a day to a very good standard, shampoo, body wash & body lotion were topped up daily I have been lucky enough to visit 3 previous Maldives Islands in the past & they have all be different in their own ways & this Island ticks so many boxes There are so many positives about this Island but a few negatives for me, AI cocktails were not the best, beer was warm in the Sunset Bar, very limited Evening Entertainment, not a deal breaker for us though, the Island could benefit from been sprayed to prevent Mustique bites during the evening but we went prepared for those & last but not least, even though we never indented to not keep in touch with the outside world , WFI costs would have been 6 Dollars for 60mins, Very Expensive Staff are what make this Island special & a BIG Thank You to you all for making my 60th Birthday one to remember :) :)
